As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

"Of all the fans of all the teams, the Arsenal ones calling for Wenger to go must surely be the most ridiculously ignorant. They must all be very young and not have seen the Arsenal before Wenger, how defensive and average they were. They probably expect Arsenal to be able to compete financially with Man City. In a word - idiots."

Fucking hell, Arsenal were "average" before Wenger? There was me thinking they were one of the most successful clubs in England before Wenger. Wish we could be that average

I'd love to see a "THINK ABOUT THE ETHIOPIANS" banner at an Arsenal match.

Does show what we're up against though - where has anybody ever suggested we could or should spend the money City do?
I have absolutely no problem with the "In Arsene We Trust" banner and would have absolutely no issue either with any other pro Wenger flag/banner etc. I obviously don't agree with the sentiment but each to his or her own eh? But for those bastards to attack a fellow gooner for showing an anti Wenger banner makes my blood boil
Just who the hell do those mongs think they are??
(It's pork chops day at the funny farm today, don't knock it )

And I bet Ethiopia's drought didn't even last anywhere near 8 years & counting. Greedy bastards!

You mean the bankers who are paid ridiculously inflated salaries, who play self-indulgent games with our money, who are constantly rewarded despite repeated failures, who mock those whose lives have been made more miserable by those failures, etc etc. Hmmm... good point!

You mean the 'merchant banker' who is paid a ridiculously inflated salary, who plays self-indulgent games with our money, who is constantly rewarded despite repeated failures, who mocks those whose lives have been made more miserable by his failures, etc etc. Hmmm... good point!
Fixed that a little bit to also reflect another reality.

What c**t wrote that bullshit ? In 93 we won the domestic cup double (first club ever to do so), in 94 we won the cup winners cup v the defending champs Parma (a team that inc Zola, asprilla and the slim and deadly brolin) and in 95 we were runners up v Zaragoza and only a freak goal prevented us from winning it again so it isn't as if we were in the wilderness or anything
As for the defensive comments Who gives a fcuk....we were successful and reveled in the fact that the rest of the league hated us Instead of labeling us as young perhaps he should reconsider as most of us older knowledgable supporters are well aware that throughout our history we were referred to as boring and it is only the younger jcl types who feel that beautiful football is paramount

my opinion is that those who want to show the banner should arrange a demonstration at home and take the banner to the main entrance of Arsenal football club.
That is true, great credit to them. If we are thinking of the same person it is someone we both know.
I see what you mean mate, but the problem is getting numbers, and the fact that the club will most probably ban those of us responsible from the stadium for a very long time.
I do think we need to get something on outside the Emirates on a matchday also. Bit of a change of strategy. I dont see how anyone could be banned for holding a banner outside the ground. Similairly, as long as the banners are not offensive theres really nothing the OB would do either. It would only be up for a very short time. Just long enough.
The "Petit Pute" banner was problematic because of its offensive nature I believe.
I've always said if a steward or OB asks us to take it down, then we'll take it down. If Wenger supporters give us abuse, then blank them.
It really is all about getting the media on it. And I reckon that would generate quite a lot.
