As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Oh I see; like we cannot make any alleged and unproven allegation against the supposed Ref who sent off RVP for allegedly "time-wasting" when we were allegedly battling Barcelona in said Champion's League second leg?

On a serious note I would say it's likely to be a relatively small team who came and got a bit of a hiding in a group game.
The fact it was fixed on English soil doesn't necessarily implicate an English team as I see it - more likely to be just the away team agreeing to throw the game without the knowledge of the home team.

We cannot say, for example, that Riley is allegedly a corrupt cheating lying piece of cheating shit that robbed us of that 50th game because he is a corrupt cheating piece of shit. We absolutely cannot say that, because it could be libelous. We can express opinion though. As in; that Mike Riley is an absolute kúnt.
us at Barcelona 3 years ago when RVP got a 2nd yellow for kicking the ball out a half second after the whistle in one of the loudest stadiums in Europe? While we were ahead at the time?

Said so at the time and all I got was labelled an AKB.
And while we're busy not libelling things how about that Barcelona who are totally not drugged up to their sombrero's. No way.

Yep. I recall some time ago when spread betting became the 'new thing' and the odd time when a player kicked a ball out immediately after kick off. I think Matt Le Tissier mentioned something about it some years later too admitting he'd done it or knew someone who had or somesuch. So I'm assuming it's similar sort of bets to that
I have never felt as bitter after a game as that one, nor will I ever feel so cheated again. Ought to be remembered as one of English footballs darkest days on the pitch.

I've read about that. Can't remember where, Merson's book maybe?
I imagine that much of it is 'spot-fixing' as opposed to fixing the result.

i remember reading about the le tissier one a while back, i think in a team sport its pretty hard to fix a result unless your a ref or a goalie. i wonder will their be any syndicates in asia

Plus the game in England is apparently Liverpool v Debrecen - how much fixing does it need and what are the profit margins like on Debrecen to lose at Anfield?
