SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Costa Rica international is currently at the Spanish side on a season-long loan and it seems that he has suitably impressed. Campbell has yet to play a single game for Arsenal and should a deal be agreed then it would be his third consecutive season away from the Emirates.
That will be a lovely copy-and-paste job for the press team over the next several years, just need to replace "third" with the updated number.

That's the wage barrier broken - what about breaking the transfer fee barrier and persuading players to join our sinking ship???

I don't want a lot this summer,
There is just one thing I need,
When it comes to new defenders,
There is just the one for me,
I just want the lad to sign,
His name on the dotted line,
Make my wish come true,
All I want for summer is Djourou

I don't want no Ryan Shawcross,
He's too slow and we need speed,
And I, don't care about Stephen Warnock,
And I don't want Winston Reid,
I don't even want James Collins,
At the back next year for us,
Robert Huth won't keep us clean sheets,
If we need to park the bus,
No there's just one man who'll do,
Who can stop them getting through,
Make my wish come true,
O'Neill all I want this summer is Djourou

Oh, I don't want that Kevin Foley,
I don't want Efe Ambrose and I,
I don't want to hear we're signing,
Some shit left back up from Stoke,
I don't want to see us spending,
Lots of money on some shit,
And so if I hear we're signing,
Mariappa I'm going to flip,
Cause I just want the one lad in,
Who can guarantee we'll win,
Sign him up in June,
O'Neill all I want this summer is Djourou

Drawing up a "B list of transfer targets" ? Our fcuking A list contained the names of gervinho and Giroud so I dread to think what the B list will be like  :banghead:

£100m to be spent......roll up....roll up....get those season tickets renewed now. Ignore all logic and the events of the past 6 years and believe it.....Wenger is about to spend big.....he looks tired......he knows what's missing and will sort it this Summer......

Dig up any of these comments since 2006, believe them and forever be disappointed

Her is the annual formula:

Wenger deserves one more year to be fair ... after all he's done for the club.

Lets not judge him until the window closes on 31 August

Although lets not judge his baffling and obscure new signings in their first season because they need time to settle in.

If it turns out the squad isnt strong enough to challenge then we can always stengthen in the January window.

And if we dont strenghten then, Arsene deserves at least another summer to get it right ... after all he's done for the club!

No mention of the right quality of players being unavailable ?

No mention of the board not releasing money ?

I fully expect next summers excuses including something along the lines of top players being reluctant to move in a World Cup season  :cussing:

:) Indeed, fit them both in.

Good point with the world cup too. And that already accounts for the summer of 2014 as it means Wenger's time for Arsenal business will naturally be restricted as he will be busy doing his crucially important stint on French TV. Add to that having to greet all the coaches from around the world who will no doubt be seeking him out to tell him how much they admire his style of football (Wenger kindly let us know how proud he was when this happened in S. Africa)
