It tasted ruff..........sorry couldn't resist. Joking aside it was in a big pot on the table, with a Bunsen burner thingy under it keeping it warm, it was cooked with more garlic than a small country would get through in a year and my lasting memory was the amount of fat floating at the top of the pot, surprised me as I always thought dog would be very lean.

I've never (knowingly) eaten any weird foods.

But did you know than the average bar of chocolate contains seven insects? Or bits of them. Fact.

Oysters are reputed to be aphrodisiac food. I have my doubts. I once ate half a dozen oysters. Only four of them worked.

"You are what you eat" is often quoted by foody people. Just bear this in mind the next time you go down on your girlfriend.

Tripe i have had is in Callos a spanish stew with chickpeas, chorizo, tomatos amongst other things. Its the mutts . The tripe itself is like snot but altogether it works.

In SA I've eaten Ostrich, Kudu, Springbok, Blesbok (horrible), Zebra, Duiker, Crocodile, Octopus, Buffalo (terrible) and a few other weird foods. Sea urchin bollocks weren't bad either.

I had Guinea Pig and Piranha in Peru.

Guinea Pig is their national dish and is delicious, whereas piranha (which I caught myself in the Amazon ) was pretty average really, although seeing those razor sharp teeth staring back at you on the plate is a little unnerving

I've also tried oysters (not that exotic, I know) which I thought were fucking awful. Just salty goo. The girl I was with told me they taste similar to cum; only not as warm... I wanted to throw up

Snails are nice though - just like meaty garlic mushrooms (if cooked in a garlic sauce, of course)

Not tasted buffalo but have tasted Bison if that is what SWL meant, Bison is really tasty, they have a small herd of them about 10 miles from where I live.

Tasted it in montana and wyoming too some years back (no this isn't herds cousin ) while travelling around the states for a few months.

Seen one of the largerst wild herds left in America (Custer State Park) and quite a few covered in snow in Yellow Stone Park.

I believe I've had both mate. Bison in Colorado & Jackson Hole, WY and buffalo in South Africa.
Enjoyed both, can't remember too much of a difference. The buffalo was in a stew though so couldn't really get as a good a sense of it as I would have liked.

Quartz... yes, there or thereabouts. Do you avoid pretty much anything non-regulation?

One thing I'd like to try is jellied eels. Never found a pie and mash shop that sells them in London, but admittedly never properly looked. Anyone know a good place centrally?

But Water Buffalo is OK, as long as it is killed according to our traditions. Not seen it for sale over here though.

Currently a swarm of locusts has invaded Southern Israel, Jews of North African and Yemeni heritage eat them. Meant to be very nutritious, cannot say I am tempted! Actually for those of us of European heritage they are banned.

Jellied Eels can be found on Tubby Isaac's stall, it is usually about one minute walk from Aldgate tube station, on the corner of Aldgate High Street and Goulston Street.

How in the name of God do you guys live without eating pork?

No bacon, no bar-b-qued ribs, no loin chops, no pork sausages, no belly, no pulled pork burrito, no big dirty old roast pork... I'm actually salivating as I write this...
