Fan dead before Liverpool game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Awful to hear it. Maybe it was a drunken argument that got out of hand. Who knows?

Drunken on not mate. Four on one is diabolical, and beaten to death deplorable.

Jeez that's tragic. RIP.
Hope the people who committed this crime get life.

A friend of mine ended up in hospital with facial scars for life cause he stopped a lad beating up the guys girlfriend. He pulled this guy off the girl and the two of them ended up beating him to shit. People's reactions are not to get involved and I suppose it's a reflection of where we are as a society. Still wrong though.

On another note, I think the police going into the Arsenal away section to arrest fans is a new trend which I applaud and if they're interested, I've got a few names for them...

grassing on your own fans. yeah nice one :banghead: . remember a certain editor do that and still never forgiven and one of the biggest *word censored* around. unfortunately too many of our fans lick his arse.

4 on 1 is cowardly, end of. However maybe its best not to jump to conclusions until the whole stories out? Either way RIP, nobody deserves to die following their team

Before this is over we will find out that the truth of the matter is vastly different than the media would like to have you believe.
The so called Victim tried to grope woman ,caused offense to anyone near him, tried to kick it off with people all night , didn't like black people and tried several times to fight some, attacking not once but three times eventually succeeded.
He wasn't alone either !
Whilst no-one deserves to die for a punch-up this person died as a result of his own actions ,not those of others. He had previous for racist behavior .

2 Not Guilty 1 they couldn't agree on a verdict ,awaiting news from the CPS to see if they will go again but they will likely reduce the charge to manslaughter or assault.
Press have been very quiet about the whole episode ,not surprising really press dont like not guilty verdicts !

I notice all those who were oh so quick to judge on this one have all gone very quiet but there is something to be learned from this sad sad tale.

Firstly Newspapers exists only to sell Newspapers ,they have no interest in truth or Justice, however they can be highly influential on Public opinion .
Never take anything you read at face value ,the person writing always has an agenda else he wouldn't be writing it ,and yes of course that includes me .

Violence is commonplace, mundane even in the UK, however it takes on a whole new identity if you can Tag it on to Football.
Stiff sentences far outweighing the crime are frequently meted out by the judiciary for anything remotely resembling Football related in a way that only Margaret thatcher and her cronies would admire. It's clearly wrong but happens everyday.

Hold your (high) horses there mate. This thread is hardly a rabid and wholesale condemnation of any parties - but lots of ifs and questions. I know it doesn't suit you mate but that's the way it is.

And thanks for the clarification on the bleeding obvious. We can all do that
