HILL WOOD STICKS HIS OAR IN. WENGER FUTURE UNSURE?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

HILL WOOD STICKS HIS OAR IN. WENGER FUTURE UNSURE?

Post by I Hate Hleb »

JUST SEEN THIS ON THE WEB - AND IT'S GOT QUOTES:

ARSENAL have hit back at Thierry Henry’s claims he left because of uncertainty over boss Arsene Wenger’s Emirates future.

Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood insisted Henry was just using that as an ‘excuse’ to explain his £16million switch to Barcelona

Hill-Wood said: “We don’t think Thierry Henry going and Arsene Wenger’s contract situation are in any way linked. That was just an excuse.â€

I could have heard that exact statement from PHW from any other Arsenal fan.

Nothing rent a quote Hill-Wood says inspires me with confidence. Why doesn"t he just SHUT THE FUCK UP.Everytime he opens his mouth he just inflames the situation. Since DD left the club it has been running like a car without an engine.

Am losing faith fast. Each comment seems to have no thought or direction.

IHH surely you'd be better as head of youth development given you work with Ben on this forum!

Lest we forget his tireless 'work' with many other little boys throughout the country.

I have to say that nails it on the head. PHW's worst enemy is his own mouth.
:(
Don't get excited Augie, I still prefer the current board to a possible take over by Snake-hips Kroenke (even after reading DDignam's well thought out thread about the POSSIBLE financing - however that is a best case scenario and we must remember that Kroenke is QUOTED as saying he would probably follow the Glazers example to raise the money). :(

It's such a shame this rift has developed. I mean, I would definitely welcome DD back onto the board in a heart beat, but never if it meant putting us millions and millions in debt.

The thing we have to remember is that ManUre are a business first and foremost  , they have a way bigger global merchandising and marketing footprint than we do - they can just about afford to whack out £62million a year in interest repayments alone - we could never afford to take on such a debt.

The board really do need to come out with something positive NOW. Announce Wenger has signed a new five year deal, sign a couple of name players. Do F*cking SOMETHING. We need to give off a confident, organised, open for business type air or we are going to struggle to sign big players. :(

What big name player would want to sign for a club in crisis that may lose their greatest ever manager in a year when that player can go to ManUre, the Chav$ or the Mousers for more money and a little more stability and security (even if it is only perceived stability in the chav$ case).

Word of advice to PHW; Shut it until you have something befitting the chairman of Arsenal FC to say.

You plank.

Credit to Hill -wood for coming out and talking to the media because i was wondering if it was ever going to happen, but i think we wouldn't of really wanted to know as he seemed unsure about Wenger's future, if the board our un certain how do they think we feel.

Well he needs to pop oup every now and then just to prove he's still breathing!

Sorry I know thats harsh but he is the person at the head of the people who can do something about all this indecision.

 The fool came out and spoke thinking that he might be able to deflect some of the criticism that has been thrown at the board(rightly so of course) lately but the moron couldnt even do that properly. Just a little correction on kroenke's financing of buying the club, I think you will find that his spokesperson has stated that he never borrows heavily to finance the purchasing of any of his sports clubs and that wouldnt be the base here either. Anyway I dont think this is a current board v kroenke arguement - its a board v David Dein arguement and I am firmly in DD's corner

Think you right augie.

You would think after getting rid of DD they would have gone out of their way to prove he was no loss. All they are proving is that they won and the club lost.
