Sunderland vs. Arsenal (14th September)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Dont think Ozil will start this, a tough away game and he barely knows anybody in the side having only got back to the club a day or so befoe....plus, i think the shape of the team as it is works right now (possible Wilshere/Flamini selection decision) - and whilst we all know Ozil is going to become a massive performer for us i think he will be integreated gently.

But who knows, im often wrong!

The strippers are on in a place called Passion. Not really a strip club as such, just a few birds getting their minge out pre match. Its at Holmeside, about 200 yards from the main train station. For the more discerning perve of course, there is always the "Little Black Book" lap dancing club on Albion Place near to the Park Lane metro stop, right classy place that and quite often its not just a lap dance you get

You see gooners, you just need me here as your annual Sunderland away travel guide

A slight fishy smell? Must have improved their hygiene standards since I was last in
Of course it can't compare to the classy establishment we visited in Madrid, but it tries its best!

Well we're definitely shite, Arsenal look pretty canny this season. Game will certainly be shite like, we're involved in it and we seem to manage to make every game shite to watch. Personally I get over this by getting so drunk that I can't remember any of it when its finished (wibble and armchair supporter can testify to that having seen me at and after SAFC v Arsenal games) and that is my advice to all gooners who are going to be in attendance, get there early, get pissed and don't worry about the fact that the games going to be shit :barscarf:

Well as one of my best mates a makem and I've been to the ground a few times to watch them I think a nice little 2-0 would be good enough.

If it was 5-0 I would feel a tad sorry for my mate and wouldn't know what to text him during the game as he would be on a downer already :| .....who the fuck am I kidding, would be textacular  fun

Saying that I think it's gonna be a close game, a win by the odd goal.

If we don't win this easily, we're in for a long hard season.
The manager's a cross between Mussolini and Frank Spencer, he's brought in 46 new players (most of whom nobody has heard of), he's pissed off last year's squad and the BBC has reported that in a 'secret', behind closed doors match the senior side lost to the under-21s (the fact that it was leaked has further upset poor Paolo). Plus, they've looked complete shite this year.
I suspect 0-0.

People slate the guy for getting shot of a load of last season's squad but I dont see that as a bad thing - why should unperforming shite be allowed to remain on easy street whilst the club continues to fight relegation year after year ? When you look at how bardsley behaved with the arrogant attitude to money then it doesnt reflect well on the players/squad. Bear in mind that this is the same bardsley that was bombed out of manure a few years ago cos he wasnt good enough and now he feels justified in behaving like a total cock when the reality is that he is an average joe that wouldnt stand out in the championship
In every team/club the players have to be motivated to succeed and it seems to me that too many players wanted to do the bare minimum just to survive and there is no way di canio will tolerate that - the guy has shaken a few players and indeed the club itself from it's self induced slumber and no doubt many of the players he inherited wont lie that and will try to cause trouble (like leaking stories to the media). I am not saying that he will succeed or wont succeed but I am saying that if you dont strive to improve then what is the point ?
