The Online Gooner Gamers Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

The Online Gooner Gamers Thread

Post by Rugby Gooner »

I thought that in light of the "Theatre Thread",(and I,as someone who has enjoyed the Theatre on many occasions),I thought that I would try and start another thread based upon an activity that many of us,(and probably alot of our offspring),enjoy.
I loved the Dreamcast,(M.S.R.-Metropolis Street Racer,Jet Set Radio,U.E.F.A. Soccer et al),P.S.1,P.S.2.,(Darth Vadars Toaster),and now the P.S.3.
Some of the current games are fantastic:- GTA5,The Last Of Us,Hitman Absolution, and also the standards- FIFA,Tiger Woods Golf,Assasins Creed etc.
You must have your favourites! I remember the two paddle Tennis game, and the Atari console!!!
I have never done X-Box so don't know Halo or "Forca" racing.
What is your console of choice?.and what are your stand out games?
For me,on P.S.2 for example,it was Manhunt,and The Getaway,now on P.S.3 it is GTA5,The Last Of Us,Elite Sniper,and the the latest F.1. game,(much better the previous offering!!!).
what about you?

Jonah Lomu on PC, Goldeneye on N64 and GTA3 on PS2 were my favourites as technology progressed.

Was always very handy at FIFA too, useful seeing as we would play it for hours at uni

Have the PS3 (soon to be getting the PS4 :barscarf: ) and love GTA5, Red Dead Redemption, The Last Of Us, Fallout 3, Hitman Absolution, Assasins Creed 3 and Sniper Elite. Brilliant games.

Was never really into the online part of it all but must admit that GTA5 online is brilliant. 8)

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64 was amazing.

Used to play too much World of Warcraft a few years ago, don't really play anything anymore. Just Candy Crush Saga

Sega Megadrive was brilliant for its time. Sensible Soccer is STILL the greatest football game ever. Forget all the CGI graphics and players looking like who they are, the playability in SS has NEVER been surpassed. 8)

I have a PS3. Was always a pro evo had but as all my mates got FIFA the last few years got into that now.

GTA was brilliant, the last of us was very good as well but I couldn't get into it. Just a bit too much of a slow mover for me. I will probably get the ps4 at some point but not until next year at least.

Going back into time had all the golden oldies, used to love die hard trilogy on the ps2 as well as the old skool GTA's and a few others...I still have emulators on my laptop for playing retro nes games, constantly sat on Zelda and super Mario 3 (which in my humble opinion was the best Mario ever made)

I did, but haven't had much time in the past few weeks. it was a pain in the arse getting my cash up as well however I should now have a million GTA dollars in my account now as they paid it to everyone to even it all out. I tended to do a few missions and sell cars but still only had about 30k!

Survival is where the big money is so need to put together a good squad for that when I dive back in!

The million is now 500K and hasn't been paid in yet. Apparently it will be in two installments of 250K after they fix all the remaining bugs (last I heard it should be later this week).

A million was a bit much. Think they said you have to download the patch for it to be credited as well.

Friend of mine got booted into the "bad sports" server for a week or so, he made it his mission to kill as many human players as possible then try to sell their cars, when they didn't sell (as you can't sell another players motor) he blew them up with his tank

Not sure where to post this as its both game and footie related ( Mods feel free to move ). My eldest is always playing FIFA, personally I think it's a load of shit but that may well be due to the 30 year age gap! He was telling me tonight about FIFA14 ultimate team legends, Pele, Maldini, Van Basten, Figo and Bergkamp I can accept but Sheringham, Owen, Lineker, Zola and Shevchenko. Do me a favour.... To coin a John W Henry phrase, what are EA Sports smoking over there?
Apparently to be listed they must not be still playing or in a managerial position.
Just a few names that spring to my mind that are missing... Moore, Charlton, Cruyf, Hirst, Schmeichel, Best and Zico, no doubt their are dozens more. On they up side there does seem to be a lot of ex Gooners in there. 8)
