Demun210 wtf are you on about??progress??? how long are you allowing wenger to make this 'progress'? cos its been 8 years without wining a trophy already yet city sack mancini last season and in the space of just 6 months are tearing up not just the EPL but beating Bayern at home with a weakened team, thats progress!!is this a long term project which ultimately culminates in us winning the title in 2020 cos if so that is far too long to wait and completely unacceptable for a club with the resources we have.i don't think you can call any of the wenger out brigade impatient, its been 8 trophyless years already,if you are prepared to wait for as long as it takes then you are sadly deluded,we will continue to win fuck all and be embarrassed by the likes of city and chavski until the day that wenger finally leaves us.Arsenal fc not Arsene fc

The sort of utter contempt and arrogance against the reasoning that we should be actually winning major honours is unbelievable, I just can't fathom it.

If we won the league City and Chelsea would go and spend another 100M each in the summer to make sure it didn't happen again next season. Although Chelsea seemed to have slowed down, they still spent 60M+ in the summer in acquiring players they didn't really need. Whilst they have monopoly money and are able to buy an infinite amount of players, we're going to remain bystanders along with Liverpool, Spurs and the other "nearly" teams. For me, the Champions League is pretty much the same. Get drawn against Real, Barca, PSG (probably Monaco in the next few years) and you'll be up against the overseas versions of City/Chelsea.

Football fans shouldn't need to be interested in the money side of things but in 2013, unfortunately, you do.

This is an excuse, and nothing else. The other teams may have more money, but that does not explain, why we do little or no business in the transfer market. Even this summer when we signed a world class player, we neglected making other signings we needed, mainly a world class striker. Arsenal are a club interested in top four finishes, and nothing else. Oh, and your money argument falls down, when you see Wigan, Birmingham, Portsmouth, and Swansea, who have all been more successful than Arsenal in the past eight years.

The old money argument. No amount of money spent by other teams is a viable excuse for us getting shitter. It's not just that other teams have surpassed us, we have gone backwards.

Chelsea were busy wasting over 100m when Porto won the champions league. Remind me how much Dortmund spent compared to Barcelona and Real too?

If it really was purely about money shouldn't every side in the world give up and let Barca, Real, City and the Chavs just have their own way

exactly, and explain the bradford, blackburn, norwich, villa losses - did they outspend us ?

nope. they outprepared and out-tactic'd us. and wengers non existent in-game management is not dependent on money either.

The club are making a huge mistake to sign wenger up for 3 years. Rolling 1 year at best, but this really should be his last season in charge. Even if we win the league this should still be his last season in charge. Ancellotti wil be free in the summer, be surprised if Madrid keep him if they fail to win the league.

Last year or the year before I would have gone along with ancellotti but I have to say that I am totally against the idea now - for me we need a younger, hungrier manager that still has a lot to prove rather than a guy who thinks that his past achievements should entitle him to more leeway than anyone else. The chavski link wouldnt be a big issue for me if there was a bigger time gap between him leaving them and now, but the reality is that he is still tight with many of their players (especially the c*nts like terry) so watching them all buddy buddy would piss me off hugely.

I know many want klopp (and I am one of those) and I know that most Gooners believe that he would be impossible to entice cos he signed a new contract but I dont understand why they feel that way - how many times have players signed new deals so that their clubs can look for a better price when he leaves so why should a manager be any different ? He has got to know that to be really lifted up to the top level of managers, he has to leave germany and be successful in one of the other big leagues as well - failing that then he needs to go to bayern and prove that he can be successful at a big club but as pep has just been installed there, I dont forsee that position becoming available anytime soon.

I also have to say that, while klopp would be my number 1 choice, he is no longer my runaway number 1 choice - laudrup and martinez are still good options for me and I still like rijkard 8)

Of course all this will be moot in a couple of days (or today even) when the cic is confirmed as having signed a new deal - with each passing day with wenker in charge, my affinity with the club is receding a little bit more

Only at Arsenal that we reward a new contract to a manager who has won nothing for 8 years

I'm just offering it as how I see it.

I'm not sure winning a single cup makes up for relegation though. I think if you were to ask any fan of those four clubs who was more successful I think they might just disagree with you.
