THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know in the past hes been one of Wengers biggest critics, and any of the opinions he had on Wenger were pretty much on the money imo.

So I take it he has changed his views on Wenger? I dont do twatter so maybe someone could post a link to his "turncoat" comments pls........

There's tons more - the bloke liked Wenger about as much as Goonersid and Augie did last season and particularly when he sold Van Judas.

He's been singing his praises this season......another one unable to understand the difference between a run of games against teams from the lower half of the table and those in the top six

Wenger was watching that performance today and clearly thinking there's nothing I can do to improve things here, hence no subs. Even by his standards that is a massive statement of satisfaction with mediocrity.

Or a statement of "who do I have to turn the game......oh yeah the fat Danish lump that nobody else wanted.....so I'll stick with the average French lump that nobody else wanted"

What I don't get is how he can look to the bench and say "who do I have to turn the game?" and not think Cazorla is worth a try  :?

Bloody hell, all the other creative players were struggling so why not give Santi a go? :?

I think he has already said that Ozil will be rested over Christmas and I think he wants Santi and Podolski fresh. To be honest Santi is being given a rough deal at the moment because our not needed £42m wonderboy has showen fuck all for quite a while now and never gets hauled off

Giving Podolski the last 10, when we needed a goal, would have made sense to me, considering we hadn't had a shot on target up till then.

But what do I know eh ?

Wenger didnt want to lose. He also didnt know how to win.
He also more importantly knew that hes well within his end of season target, ie:- top four. So doing absolutely fuck all, especially after hed seen Jose bringing off torres and settling for a draw suited him lovely.

Well within his target. Everyone seems to forget - Wengers goal is top four. First doesnt matter. Top four only.
Hes got himself another point towards his "goal"

Not me buddy.....I'm like an elephant. Ask yourself why Kroenke is happy paying him £8m a year indefinitely......answer is that he makes him £25m from qualifying for that Be All and End All shit that will end with another February dicking.

Arsenal FC - where 4th is everything.

5 predictions:

1. No big money striker arriving in January
2. FA Cup spunked away in February (for us dinosaurs that still seem to think it matters to win it)
3. Jerking off at Norwich in May when the VT is secured by a point
4. Wenger staying till June 2017 on £8m a year
5. 2017 - 12 years since a trophy

Seems because right now we are not scraping around 5th place people have forgotton that actually finishing first is not Wengers goal. Everybodys eyes are on first. Except the eyes that matter - Wengers. His eyes are on top four.

Its like a sprinter or athlete in the qualifying rounds who doesnt need to win to qualify for the final. Finishing first doesnt matter. Its just all about finishing in the qualifying positions - 1st, 2nd 3rd or 4th. Wenger doesnt care.

You'll hear the same old drivel in May about how much the others have spent (actually United fuck all, Spurs 'net' fuck all, Everton fuck all) and how nobody gave us a chance.

Souness will hail Wenger's greatest ever achievement as we win the last 5 against the superpowers from the bottom half to secure 4th
