THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

3rd!!!!??!!! now that would stuff up a lot of predictions. Does the 3rd place trophy look anything like the 4th place trophy?

Wenger will freeze like a rabbit in the headlights & do fuck all in the transfer market, even though it's bloody obvious that a top class signing or two could make the major difference this season in the League & European Cup. :banghead:

Instead he will just settle for 3rd /4th place & the AKB's will be demanding a new contract :barscarf:

Wenger should ONLY be getting a new contract IF he wins the League or European Cup, anything else he should be fucked off at the season's end. :cussing:

I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it!!!! :banghead:

I see that the Septic syrup is on his way to the Smoke, bonuses for all & another season with the 4th place trophy in the bag.

WENGER, GAZIDIS, KROENKE & HILLWOOD OUT NOW!!!!! :box:

Hill-Wood has long been out, and thank fuck for that. 8)

Incidentally, isn't it amazing how we made our first 20m + signing after his long-awaited departure....

Whilst Hill-Wood had presided over a spendthrift few years, he was also happy to authorise the earlier Wenger years when we paid out respectable sums for Henry, Wiltord, Reyes and Arshavin.

I think our splashing out on Ozil was a mixture of increased cash from new sponsorship deals, and as Myles Palmer reckons, Sir Chips realising that fan morale was low and needed a boost or else ticket sales would drop.

Hillwoods influence is minimal and has been from the days when he let the shyster Dein and his cohort Danny Fizbang take over the club for less than 11 million quid .
There is and was a rider in all of the share deals that he was to be chairman for life (or nominee) and I think but cannot confirm he had a right of veto on them however he hasn't done much more than make embarrassing comments in the daily star for the last 5/6 years .

My opinion has softened slightly i have to admit. I dont expect Arsenal to win the league every year but i expect us to be challenging at the very least and to be fair this season we have (so far)...... I dont think we will win it with city having by far the best team/squad and the chavs having the best manager IMO...... my opinion on wenger will be confirmed by how we finish the season but so far there are very few complaints :?

That reminds me of my wedding day - the tables were all named after Gooner legends and the head table was "Wenger". Same theme for the BBQ I reckon - who do you think should be joining us on the There's Only One table? I'll go for Rodders, Augie and Falkirk Goon for starters......
