The return of project wenger
The return of project wenger
There are too many reports linking us with the return of recent ex-players. Is it possible that now the financial shackles are off, wenger is stubborn, arrogant enough to bring back the players he let go, to prove his point of project youth would have worked had those players not been sold off?
I'm talking about cashley, who was seen as the future captain that would lead a team including cesc, rvp, the recently returned flamini, theo, szcezney and ramsey who remained whilst maturing. A line up would look like this including current players at the club for over 5 years;
Szcezney, sagna, djourou, tv5, cole (captain), flamini, diaby, ramsey, cesc, rvp. walcott.

You seem to have become quite suddenly abrasive in the last week or two about the negativity on here?LDB wrote:But still, let's moan about it anyway.topcat wrote:Personally, I cant see any of them players coming back.

I agree mate.LDB wrote: A bit like g88ner, I'm just finding it rather tiring although I should be used to it I guess.

Sooooo demoralising sometimes, although we should really know better than to let it get to us shouldnt we?
Considering how long we've had to put up with it and how many times we've seen it before.
All a bit sad really.

Re: The return of project wenger
why would anyone want djourou back and how can you include diaby in starting squad..Szcezney, sagna, djourou, tv5, cole (captain), flamini, diaby, ramsey, cesc, rvp. walcott.
As for others, they all went because of money, nobody wants to see them back in our shirt and even Wenger wouldn't take the credit for them being still good.

I do not want RvP back, he would be too risky because of injuries and left on a sour note.
If Cole leaves Chelsea I think he will go to Liverpool.

Djourou only on loan so will be coming back whether or not anyone wants him too!p206ab wrote:why would anyone want djourou back and how can you include diaby in starting squad..Szcezney, sagna, djourou, tv5, cole (captain), flamini, diaby, ramsey, cesc, rvp. walcott.

Re: The return of project wenger
Slight change of direction but what if the club/Wenger had decided they wanted to be successful and we had therefore been able to keep some of the players we lost. Can you imagine if we had had, Cole, Fabregas, Van Persie, Nasri, Diarra and hadn't got rid of and taken back Flamini? We'd certainly have won something and wouldn't be shitting ourselves about the next run of games. Put aside your prejudice about most of those names and imagine it.
I'm sure I've missed some too. Wine taken!

LDB and G88ner are great posters..
I like the fact that they've been on here a long time but havent fell down the same route as the majority. They see the bigger picture.

Cole won't come back and neither will van Judas, far too much water under the bridge in both cases. Couldn't ever see Cole wanting to come back anyway, whereas I reckon van Judas would definitely be interested. Fabregas is doing far too well to come back (even the media talk otherwise has died down). In addition to that Djourou definitely won't play for us again, Diaby is fairly unlikely to and Sagna and TV5 are both reasonable bets to leave in the summer.
For all his egotistical faults Wenger craves above all success with a blend of talented young players, class footballers and rough diamonds he has picked up for £5-15m. He wants to be the one to break the mould - like he did in 1998 with his new methods off the pitch and with scouting, and like we did in 2002 and 2004 with our wonderful football and record-breaking Invincibles. He cares (to a fault) about making history, not rewriting it.
