How do Arsenal's results affect you?
Re: How do Arsenal's results affect you?
get well soon Spudmasher. American medic I know says their cardiologists recommend omega 3 (not 6 and 9) and daily 75mg aspirin taken with food. Not the gastric coated kind, the normal dispersable aspirin, unless you have stomach issues that prevent you taking it. And moderate regular exercise when you're feeling better.
I find I'm less stressed and angry nowadays than I used to be with Arsenal/Wenger's debacles as they're more expected and disappointment is a given. If we do do well, I get ridiculously optimistic and happy. Delusion is the lot of the fan.
But I have a lot of health & other issues that worry me a lot more.

I think a match like Saturday is slightly different, where the match is lost after 7 minutes, by the time it was over, I had already dealt with that and moved on to other things. I was having a right laugh with a few mates in the back row of the upper tier, and it kinda cheered me up. My favourite bit was when the fans started singing ‘Oh Rocky Rocky….’ at 6-0 down; We mused about the great man looking down on this from above and shouting ‘Don’t fackin’ bring me into this! You’re losing six nil!’ and we had a good giggle about that.
I guess it is kinda gallows humour or something like that ; like when we got that corner at the start of the second half and we all had a sarcastic cheer ; until Cazorla mis-hit it and it was cleared by the first defender.
All different to losing in the 80th or 90th minute, but a lot of it can depend who you are with ; If you are at the match on your own, you can stew in your own juices for 90 minutes, or if you are with a big group of mates, you can take your mind off it quite easily. Straight after Saturday’s match, we went and had a massive drink up in South Ken, and by the end of that a 6-0 drubbing was the last thing on our minds.

I like to think ive mellowed over the years, either that or le bumhole has lowered my expectations so low. I remember luton in 88 I was gutted and zaragoza in 95 was an awful numb feeling
blowing it at leeds in 99 was just a gut wrencher galatasaray 2000 I broke a door in frustration
what a cock lol and the year after when the dippers robbed us
I was gutted for months it was made 10x worse cos I know several of the *word censored*.Bolton 03
barca 06 I dont think ive felt pain like that footballwise
fucking awful. In recent times brum in the league cup was about the worst I mean when we fuck up we make a monumental fuck up, I said to my mate after that game 6yrs will be another 6 without a pot as long as le bumhole is in charge.
Come to think of it looking back I dont think ive mellowed at all

I was fine until 88-89 - every game was just part of day out - wake up, tea, breakfast, tom tit, get a paper, catch the train, walk to the ground. dog burger. pint. sing and moan at the match. pint. burger. train. shower. pub. not pick up chicks. kebab. smoke. tea . bed.
after that it was wake up with queasy guts, be nervous all day. couple of pints. sing til i'm hoarse. not relax until we're 2-0 up. massive relief at final whistle. go home drained. curry. MOTD. bed.
winning stuff changes you.

Why is it always the doors that suffer?
My parents still haven't repaired/replaced theirs to my knowledge after I gave it a good going-over after the 2004 FA Cup semi.

Re: How do Arsenal's results affect you?
Normally, I'm torn apart by bad results but tonight I didn't give two shits or a fuck.
Maybe it was because I rathered playing pool with my mates after that drubbing at the weekend instead of watching us play tonight, or maybe it's because our league hopes are completely over.
We need a new change of management (felt that for quite a while) though I' m surrounded by people in my family who think otherwise. It's pissing me off now. I don't give a fuck about the league games now, just win the bloody cup!l

Re: How do Arsenal's results affect you?
I posted earlier on this thread about how i feel when we lose, but last night didnt bother me at all i was expecting it ,i didnt see the game i followed updates on twitter and on here when it was possible (the gator). When we went 1-0 down there was no reaction from me ,even when they scored the 2 nd goal (albeit it thru flamini),it didnt bother me cos this is the way it will be for the rest of the season.I will watch the game against city but not expecting anything, just total indifference.
Ps the tax rebate of €850 i got in the post yesterday i must say had me in good humour ,so maybe thts why i wasnt bothered.

That is how I feel every time our so called title challenge evaporates and when we get knocked out of the Champions League because it's too predictable to be painful any moremcdowell42 wrote:I posted earlier on this thread about how i feel when we lose, but last night didnt bother me at all i was expecting it ,i didnt see the game i followed updates on twitter and on here when it was possible (the gator). When we went 1-0 down there was no reaction from me ,even when they scored the 2 nd goal (albeit it thru flamini),it didnt bother me cos this is the way it will be for the rest of the season.I will watch the game against city but not expecting anything, just total indifference.

When 'shit for brains' throws the cups away I feel the pain because they have been winnable for years but through his own self harm policy of chasing the CL dream he disregards them. If we lose to Wigan or lose in the FA Cup Final it will be more painful to me than any drubbing at the hands of Bayern or Barca could ever be

Re: How do Arsenal's results affect you?
I am moody for the rest of the day then usually I am over it. But Chelsea last weekend ruined my weekend. Switched off when the 6th went in and went and kept busy till I checked the final score on Twitter. I was angry, frustrated and felt let down. Swansea was different though. I had a feeling we wouldnt win so when it happened I wasnt too surprised.
Feel completely let down by this group of players. Talk about responding but never come through.

You keep saying "self harm" when it comes to wenker but it is not harming up one jot - he clearly is quite happy with where we are and is more than happy to be pocketing 8m per season, so the reality is that it is only us that are being harmed by his ineptitude
