FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull

I would leave it shut down until 2019 personally!
I've a feeling if we do lose this place will be shut down permanently...
shut down permanently? It would be great as this place is full of glory hunters, doomers and WOB. In other words, Losers.

You have to ask "Why now"? Why not on the 10th anniversary or the 25th, significant dates, why 29 years later? Once you start...........It's because a small number of vociferous grief junkies are demanding "respect", in their pathetic tragedy competition, we can't compete with the big boys at football so this is their chance to grab the spotlight.

Every year we have a dignified remembrance out the memorial, Cathedral and at our last home game. We need nothing else. Some away clubs do something, some don't, it's no big deal, this year a Crawley player laid a beautiful wreath before KO, it was well appreciated, it was not demanded, therefore sincere.........meaningful.

I do not think you will find one person who was there who wants a minutes silence at the FA Cup final. It's like collective hysteria has caught the UK regarding football tragedies at the mo. These twats have taken to standing on 56 minutes at our own ground Valley Parade (Why now?), what happens? They get told to STFU and sit down! :D
Spot on, agree totally with this. Yes, the fire was a terrible & tragic event, but why should fans who have no connection to the tragedy (other than being football supporters) start recognising it on a more high profile scale now, 29 years later? To make ourselves feel better? To prove what caring, compassionate people we are? So we can all post emotional messages on social media to make ourselves feel better when people tell us how caring and compassionate we are? To stick two fingers up at Liverpool and the Hillsborough grief porn? I'd hope that people would consider me as a decent, compassionate person without being forced to partake in some public outpouring of grief because some guys in suits think it's the done thing.

Football is tripping over itself at the minute to offer sympathy & a touching message at every opportunity but you can't ever please everyone. The other week Arsenal tweeted out a "message of sympathy and support" for the victims of the South Korea ferry disaster. Not only did they tweet it a week late which made it look horribly contrived and false, immediately throngs of other fans from around the world were piping up to ask why AFC hadn't offered condolences on tragedies affecting them locally - bus bombings in Nigeria for example. The Korean ferry disaster was a tragic event, but why does football and Arsenal need to get involved? The only reason I can see is because we are recently financially invested in that area of the world. We want to keep fans from that region sweet so they'll buy lots of nice merchandise when we do tours over there. Arsenal and football as a whole prioritise one community's disaster over everyone else's when they get involved. The only way to please everyone is to commemorate every disaster or tragedy that occurs throughout the world and if we did that, no football would ever get played!

Stephen Sutton… Nice guy, a top lad who dealt with his illness in an humble manner & inspired thousands to donate for Cancer Research. But a minute's applause for him before the Cup Final? Really? Not for me. I don't wanna sound like a *word censored* but there's no need. There are thousands of nice people who've done great things for charity who die every day. Let their families and friends grieve for them in private in a quiet, dignified manner. Have their families asked for hundreds of thousands of strangers to leech onto their tragedy in order to make themselves feel better? In my opinion, silences & shows of respect before matches should be reserved for those who've made outstanding contributions to football in general, the teams who are taking part or just for large scale national/international tragedies.
Wow. What a heartless cúnt. :rubchin:

Only kidding, Dan!!

I think this makes sense tbh.
Dunno why, but this post has got me 10x more nervous for some reason...

anyone know what hotel we stay in tonight - we used to have a 'lucky' hotel out in Herts somewhere.

that used to be part of the cup final day magic as a kid - seeing them leave the hotel and the overhead shots of the bus with the fans lining the route.....

i wish we were wearing Yellow. :?

Don't know if I am more nervous, excited or frightened to death :? 99 times out of 100 we should beat Hull. Please don't be the 1 tomorrow

Having seen us be shocking the last 2 times at Wembley I hope and pray the 3rd time lucky prevails. Fucking come on Arsenal! :barscarf: :barscarf:

If we turn up - we will annihilate them by a good margin 3 - 4 goals.....

If they somehow score first - we will struggle - and it will be a nail biting unpleasant afternoon

depends how 'dirty' they intend to be - first 5 - 10 minutes of tackles will tell

Ramsey with a Hattrick MOTM :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Just can't handle another one of those big game timid displays, then Arsene whinging afterwards about mental strength and/or bad luck etc. Yes, be nervous - Hull will be nervous too - but go out there and give everything.
They are bound to try to start fast and physical. If we start playing that slooooow useless way, I'm going to go mental.
And I'm only watching in front of the telly, unlike some of you lucky b*stards.

Just don't know how to call this one, I really don't. On recent form they have been gash, and we have been good.

Our ability to freeze on the big stage knows no bounds though and if we turn in a performance like the semi final against Wigan where the team are visibly gripped by fear, and we resort to laboured sideways passing then a Hull team defending deep will cause us a lot of problems. If its level with 20 mins to go, who knows?

I hope to god we score in the first 15 mins and have a real go. In the past few weeks we've played with a higher tempo again.....but it wasn't so long ago that when the stakes were high we looked laboured

Steve O...make you bang on. High tempo, fire with fire to start (they will do the usual ''don't like it up em'' stuff). Go in strong, hard and run them off the pitch. Tika fucking taka is not the order of the day. I do not want to contemplate walking back up Wembley stadium with my boy with him having seen two cup finals and lost them both. Come on Gooners! :barscarf:
