I got outside the Town Hall.
Was quality. Singing the Giroud song back to Giroud, telling Sagna's to stay, there was even a rendition of "there's only one"

Jesus, what is the point of having someone offer opinions who is so obviously anti-Arsenal? Every word out of his mouth was spiteful. He kept going on and on and on and on about, "it's funny how all the decisions go against you when you're the underdog!" Completely ignoring the fact that we should have had at least one (I think two) penalties.

Twat.
He was a whiney little bitch. At the end claimed Arsenal had 'a lot of help', ignores the penalty calls we should have. Oh the little club was disregarded, despite the evidence in front of him.

Gibbo in tears at full time. That is so heartwarming and makes me love the lad more. Clearly means the world to him as he's an Arsenal man, come fru the youth system and has suffered just as much as the rest of us gooners.

Maybe, or is he just so fucking relieved that we won after him skying a chance San no goal might have scored from :)

Haven't had a chance to see the tv coverage yet but recorded BT and will hopefully watch it Tuesday night - from the upper tier didn't get a clear enough view to judge if any of the pen shouts were nailed on.

Happy as Larry  :barscarf:

Thanks for the memories Arsene, its time to go.

Police were locking it off & not allowing us to go up to town hall or the stadium. Guess the numbers were higher than expected and they couldn't handle it. What a shame. On the plus side tho there were SO many fit birds out
With the new stadium and parade now ending at the armoury, that is the place to be imo. Islington town hall is too small and on a main road so not ideal. The armoury is on a square which comfortably took 35,000 plus today in that part of the parade alone. I heard that there was in excess of 200,000 lining the route, funny how the chavs and city never get anywhere near this amount, even when Chelski wins the CL!
Oh having the main culmination of the celebrations at the Emirates as opposed to the Town Hall makes perfect sense, I just didn't know

Just back home now, what a fucking weekend. This is probably going to be an essay/haphazard ramblings!

First of all I thought our fans were pretty good - even at 2-0 although there was frustration/anger/disbelief they still got behind the team. In decent voice around the ground before, compared to the Hull fans - didn't hear a peep out of them all game. I remember when we played Southampton their fans had some decent banter, and even though I hate Liverpool there was plenty of back-and-forth between the fans before the game which made for a cracking atmosphere. Hull fans were fucking silent and the only one I heard anything from was when I pulled in at the Quality Hotel for a quick piss en route to Wembley and he starting bleating on about the victory parade. I joked that me and my Dad had already paid £20 for tickets and he insisted on telling everybody, even though I told him three times it was obviously a joke. Moron.

As for the game, conceding from a corner like that is rubbish - don't doubt that Bruce looked at our zonal marking and saw that we won't leave anyone on the edge. After the second goal I was numb but then stood up and went fucking ballistic when I looked across and Wenger was complaining to the fourth official. Wherever they took the free-kick from we were fucking sleeping. Fabianski was also fucking sleeping imo, he had so much time to get across to that header but was so slow and then dived behind the line, even leaving Davies with an open goal. If Gibbs hadn't cleared that off the line we were gone.

Cazorla's free-kick was brilliant (although think keeper might be disappointed), in fact he was brilliant all game. Given he didn't have a target for his creativity I thought he was immense and work his bollocks off. If Gerrard/Lampard/Rooney hauled us back into the game with a free-kick of that magnitude and put in a performance like that they would be knighted - Cazorla wasn't even given man of the match. I thought Ramsey had a decent enough game and took his goal superbly, but with so little happening up front and a lack of width there just wasn't the space for him to arrive around the box at pace late until it opened up in extra time.

Ozil was gash, should not have stayed on as long as he did. Rosicky always changes the dynamic for us in those sorts of situations and imo he should have come on at 2-2 in normal time. I actually thought Wilshere did very well off the bench, was very mature and composed. Giroud had one of his worst games, just dreadful. His touch was just appalling and the rest of his game wasn't much better - the one thing he did all game was that excellent backheel for the winner. I thought Arteta was excellent in his understated manner from 60 mins or so onwards. He broke up possession swiftly and effectively time and time again and it helped us keep them under constant pressure at 2-2, they barely got in our half! Fabianski (in addition to the second goal as I've mentioned) had his inevitably brainfuck as for the 3rd time in 3 Wembley appearances he charged out of his box to get rounded. Then managed to drop a virtually unchallenged free-kick at the end, huge let off.

I saw Bruce's comments and had to chuckle. 2nd was a corner but the first not a free-kick? His lad clattered through the back of Cazorla and was lucky not to get booked. Probert was fucking awful all day, you could see he just didn't even consider giving either penalty. Although it pissed me off how fucking naive we are. Despite what fans say about players crowding the referee, it is far worse to watch your team stood there holding their cocks as the opposition time-waste or get away with another cynical foul without caution. The ref may tell you to go away a few times but if players are in his ear bringing his attention to it he can't ignore the same offence forever.

I've never been to a game and felt such tension. Although the first 20 minutes of the second half flew by without us doing much, feels like I was in the stadium for more like 3 days than 3 hours. Such an unbelievable feeling when Ramsey scored and we won it. I was sitting next to a bloke who must have been in his 70s and his son, top top fellas. Lived and breathed every minute of the game along with them and my brother. The older bloke gave some twat a volley of abuse because he wandered down the aisle after 30 minutes with fish and chips - meaning he'd left the final to queue up and get food. It saddened me to see so many obvious part-timers and hipsters there, the queue to the girls' toilets at half time was full of giggling young women dressed like whores and I heard so many ridiculous comments/questions about the game. Very sorry for all those genuine Gooners that missed out, especially in place of people like the above.

What a fucking weekend, been waiting a long long long time for that. Fucking love it.

Also went to see some of the parade today, saw them on the way to and from the Town Hall. Great turn-out and actually a good event I thought - players must have been sick of waving after the first 10 mins but fair play they still made an effort with the fans all the way round.

I found the cup winners t-shirts that loads of people were wearing pretty fucking embarrassing though. Winning the FA Cup is a massive massive deal for us, especially with the trophy drought but under any circumstances. So seeing hundreds (if not thousands of people) wearing a t-shirt that on the back had FA Cup Winners 2014 at the top and in the bottom half "Euro Champions League Qualification 2014" above "Mind that gap Tottenham" pissed me off. We won an actual trophy and being there yesterday and today it's obvious how much it means to all the fans, so elevating finishing 4th to anything like the same level is fucking infuriating. And as much as I like bashing Spurs they were never in danger of finishing above us from September onwards so I found that reference pretty small-time.

What a wonderful weekend. So pleased for the players and even more so the Gooner nation. It just felt fantastic for us to be celebrating something special as one once again. Still 200% against Wenger but it was nice to put the divisions to one side for a few days and just get behind the Arsenal. Felt almost like the old days again

Was going to drink before the game in a pub called "The Bear" on Wembley High Road...only to find that the twats had renamed it...consolation though that it forced on into JJ Moons where the beers were unbelievably cheap. Also a great atmosphere.

Thought the Hull fans were miserable fuckers - just like Wigan before them. What is it about these backward Northern Rugby League towns...! No banter whatsoever!!

Lots of arguing between gooners in the first half, and a decent scrap at half time. All sorted by the end of course, everyone united once again. Didn't have a chance to watch the whole game today on TV, but couldn't believe that we didn't get at least 3 of the 4 pens in that second half. The most obvious of the lot was the handball...shocking!

I agree but they were all being sold by Northern pikeys from what I saw so not like they were official club policy!

spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Giroud was awful. His fist touch was nonexistent and he didn't defend the corner(cross?) very well. Mertesacker went to sleep on the rebound and slip nearly gave Hull the equalizer. Sanogo did everything Giroud did but much better and would have scored if that Hull defender didnt handball his header.

Other than that our scores are in the same ball park.
Giroud was quite average, until Sanogo came on. All of a sudden he seemed to play with a bit a bit of freedom and looked decent when he had someone alongside him. Put a striker next to him and he will be a much better player, probably score a few more too. But as long as wenger persists with the one up front, giroud will remain outstandingly ordinary.

I know mate, I didn't think for a minute that they were official club merchandise. For a start they'd probably be £30 if they were! I just personally found it a bit fucking embarrassing that so many people were walking around with that on their t-shirt.
