The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Oh the irony, mister gullible.

Not a dig 1989, just having a joke.

Two great goals from Rodriguez - in pole for the Golden Boot.

Rodriguez is not coming :barscarf:

Schneiderlin is a strong possibility I believe, Remy also could join and Wilfred Bony too. But that is as clamorous as our signings will get.

I think we can forget all the world cup super top table talent mentioned in the press. Wenger got his fingers burned with Ozil who has not justified his fee so anybody expecting Latin American flair can prepare for major disappointment. No big money buys will arrive.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has suggested that the Gunners will try to beat Manchester United to Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal, 27, after claiming he is a player who has "everything". Sunday Express

Arsenal are set to sign Southampton's France midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, 24, as well as Chile and Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, 25 - eliminating any chance Sanchez might be included in a deal for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, 27. Sunday Express

So according to the press rumour machine Le Cock is looking to sign THREE top, Top, TOP Players!...Pfffff yeah right.

I truly would cum in my pants if that EVER came true......but it won't

I'm not sure if I love or hate these kind of rumours...99% of me laughs it of as bullshit...but there's always that niggling 1% at the back of my head that starts imaging them in our shirt next season...and then the disappointment!

I think I prefer the Remy rumours....nothing to get excited about either way.

I know, i know that's what is Agonisingly Frustrating...especially as Le Cock or rather The Board suddenly pulled the Ozil deal out of the bag at the 11th hour last year, there's that (1%) part of me that still hopes beyond hope that, maybe, just maybe something similar might happen again... :? :banghead:

I know that it is vital we recruit some quality players (esp DM) but I think I would be underwhelmed if we signed these 2 (why both 2 DMs btw ? :? ). Earleir in the summer we were linked with Martinez (who is known to be unsettled in munich) and de jong (who would def bring a strongman presence in midfield, and lately there are strong rumours that schweinsteiger is available at Bayern and all of them would be better signings imo. Fernando at 12m was an absolute steal and we were nowhere to be seen there either

Steve O, I know that none of these mentioned are coming but even the players we are being ridiculously linked with are disappointing me considering our very significant transfer budget
