Still don't for a second believe he is choosing Spurs over Arsenal. It would beggar belief.

And Spurs have a plethora of midfielders and a notoriously fickle approach to selection. Even being Pochettino's favourite and a reasonably hefty price tag as long as the likes of Dembele, Sandro and Paulinho are at the club they will all play a bit. If Arsenal were actually willing to spend £15-20m on him I'd say that would be a pretty fair indicator of being lined up for a starting berth.

as i said before:

strikes me as an arteta type signing. competent, decent, but smacks of 4th placeness, dont get me wrong arteta has done a good jib for us till his legs went last year, but he was a squad signing at best for a club of our supposed ambitions. if we want to aim at more than 4th we need to be signing better players than schnerdelin. hes done ok in the PL but hes hardly stand out.plus hes not really a true dm.

no issue with him as a squad player but imo hes hardly an upgrade on what we have there already. bender or that portugese lump would be far far better (bender by far the best solution).

wouldnt surprise me if he chose spurs, if he came here he knows he would be rotated as hes not what we need. average.

Funny you should mention Arteta as whoscored have done a stat that has both of their work in the midfield last season as almost identical, so yes he would be rotated with Mikel hardly worth swapping his little pond or missing out on being first choice in a smaller team.

Feel gutted for the lad.
at least he got to score for Arsenal - he will never forget that
Top guy! Would have loved him to make it with us! Not sure if this is legit, if it is - what a cracking guy!

I hope it's not true about him being sold to Hull. Of all our current players the one I want to succeed with us the most is Jenko. Gooner through and through. Hopefully a loan spell only. :|

Other than probably Schweinsteiger or Pogba who else would you want as a DM?

Havent seen much of Vidal, Carvalho to decide. Matuidi was too rash for me for France.

Who else is in the market??

I just can't see Wenger making an offer for Casillas....he's renowned for the Gk being a blind spot for him, so to suddenly have 3 decent keepers would be a 180 degree turnaround...and we all know wenger doesn't listen to others...unless of course its a french DJ

If it's true about Jack Wilshere taking on the DMF role - then obviously wenger and he must have discussed/agreed it...and if so...then hopefully that can be the catalyst for Wilshere to sort himself out once and for all and start to show us the quality we all know he has....BUT, if it all goes tits up...then we may miss out on the chance of challenging for the title because we don't have the DMF we so obviously need.

3 keepers of that calibre would make zero sense. The dopes who create and still report these rumours don't even think about the logic.

Huh, been away during the summer and lots of stuff has happened like dozens of pages full of shit in this thread :-P

All necessary is already said about our transfers already here, but I have to add that I'm very pleased on how things are moving on during this summer - even if I haven't forgiven the fact that we didn't sign Cesc :barscarf:

I'm worried that we haven't signed DM yet and most of the rumors has died away. If we signed holding DM I think it's safe to say that we've gone forward as a club during this summer but if we don't it leaves big question mark on our chances next season.

As for Jenko, I'm very sad that he is leaving. He wont be sold though but loaned out at least for one season, most probably to West Ham. The fact is however that he isn't good enough for this club at the moment and he'll need regular first team football to develop his game. Jenko has been kind of "special" Arsenal player for me as he is half Finnish.

There is also another aspect regarding his career that you guys won't care much about probably. That is his future international career in national team. The thing is that he played in Finland U19 and during that time Finland national team was very realistic option for him and Team England quite distant possibility.

Then he moved to Arsenal and suddenly Team England was more and more realistic for him and he did choose England over Finland when he got the chance. There is no suprise in this as he is born and raised in England and lived there whole his life. And of course Finnish football is utter shit and he wouldn't probably want to embarrass himself playing for us anyway :D :D :D

Anyway, he can't play in Finnish national team anymore and what his possible Arsenal career end will do to his chances to play in English national team. Of course, he is still very young and anything can happen but obviously going to Hammers of Hull won't do any good to his international career.
