He's not just sub-standard, he is so out of his depth it's embarrassing. So many moves breaking down because his touch and passing are dire, by the second half the midfielders were actually avoiding passing to him.

How fucking long do we have to watch him potter about before Wenger finally accepts it as another failed experiment? The bloke is never going to cut it at this level no matter how much game time he gets. He offers nothing and is no better than any young striker you'll find on the books of a League One club.
Considering we still have Diaby on the books I'd say it's the latter.

It will continue in this comedy fashion while we're still winning, but as soon as he starts costing us points the crowd will be all over him like an ill-fitting suit.

I cannot believe we have started the season with this piece of shit up front - Wenger vanity project mkII.

I'm absolutely convinced that their nationality (especially diaby s case) has been a crucial factor in why he is still at the club and is still being talked about as if he is still important to the team  I believe that had he been any other nationality he might not have been fcuked out straight away, but he would certainly have been eased out and we would never hear stories about his impending return cos he would be viewed as peripheral/dispensable at the very least
I foresee another such situation developing with le postman - for the life of me I cannot see any reason why he is at the club much less as first choice back up to Giroud. I am not sold on Campbell at all, but what I have seen suggests that he is a million times better than this fool. If there is no obvious reason why he is so highly regarded by le cock, then it does make you wonder if nationality is swaying wenker

I don't like to write a young player off so early in his career but every time I see him play it becomes more and more obvious that he just is not good enough for our club. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be obvious to our illustrious manager and it looks like he is going to be one of wengers special little pet projects that gets games for a reason that is apparent to nobody but him.
Most players have at least one good attribute...but I struggle to find one thing with the poor fucker...no pace, no control, can't pass, doesn't hold the ball up, no strength, shit finisher, crap in the air....even his fucking goal celebration is shit.
Unfortunately I get the feeling we will see a lot more of him before wenger realises what we already know... he's just not good enough I'm afraid.

Baffled as to how Sanogo is in our squad.

Afobe has been sent on loan, but are him or Akpom worse than Sanogo?

I'm starting to quite like Sanogo
He offers us something different, he is a tall powerful presence where the rest of the team are a bunch of midgets.

Did he really play much worse than Sanchez yesterday? And more to the point he didn't exactly play much worse than Giroud either. Hopefully he will improve as the season develops.

Sorry mate but I can't agree. I know Giroud gets a rough ride on here at times but even he looked a different class to Sanogo when he came on yesterday.
I do agree about midgets though...the palace players looked huge next to our lot.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a huge Giroud fan. For me his shortcomings are just too much, and even his strengths (like holding up the ball) could be utilised better, although they way he held off the City players last week for his goal and winning that header against two big defenders for Ramsey's goal was great work. I particularly hate how he offers zero option in behind. But in a game like yesterday with the opposition camped so deep, he will keep showing for the ball all day. And what he is good at is quick one-twos with midfielders and a surprising number of his flicks round the corner pay dividends. Yesterday the likes of Ramsey and Wilshere were skipping through the midfield trying to use Sanogo to bounce a one-two off, and he fundamentally couldn't trap crisp five yards passes or return them. By the time he went off our midfielders were actually hanging onto the ball rather than giving it to him.

I honestly can't understand why he is in our first-team squad. For me he is THE worst footballer I've seen, he just doesn't seem to know how to play the role never mind have the ability to do it at this level. Regarding Diaby, he is a financial black hole but understandable - we panicked after Flamini upped and left on a free and threw long-term deals at any young-ish fringe players, and when he signed the contract in 2010 he had played a consistently respectable number of games. Since then nobody is going to have taken him off our hands with his injury record - not saying that we did things correctly but scratch the surface and there is some reasoning.

Sanogo is tall. So fucking what? There are probably 100,000 people in the country who are as tall or taller and I'm sure they can't all be as shit at football. And the real kicker is that Wenger will foster him for far too long.

I've got Yaya Sanogo in my fantasy football team. Why? I think he is pants but I know that once Arsene believes in a player he will keep playing him. At some point Yaya will score goals e.g. The Benfica 4 goal mauling and that will be a "chance to silence the critics". A bit like giving a manager breathing space after winning a trophy after ten years helped by a favourable draw against wigan and hull... :barscarf:

He's got a long way to go before he should be considered for the starting 11. I am not sure what Wenger is trying to achieve by playing him. He had quite a few opportunities to get a shot away yesterday but instead of driving towards goal he kept turning away and laying off a pass which killed the chances.
Hope he only gets game time in the capital one cup for the rest of the year.

He wouldn't get a game for a lower half championship side. It's an absolute disgrace he's even at the football club let alone fucking playing/starting!

Further evidence that Le clueless hasn't let go of his vanity project. We are so close to greatness, but are being held back by a mad man on a point proving mission.

Scandalous that our 1st game of the season this lanky oaf was what we had running out to lead the line. This is the Premier League ffs.

I think we are all missing a trick- the answer rather than criticize from afar is to write to Le Prof saying how brilliant Sanogo is, and what a masterstroke it was to save him from the postround

As per usual the stubbon Bugger will then decide that as we don't have 31 years of experience we must be wrong, and sell him.

Progress?

The only progress I wish to see from him is for him to progress o̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶v̶i̶c̶t̶o̶r̶i̶a̶ ̶l̶i̶n̶e̶ out of the door, never to return.
