As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's it, we are total shit now!
Giroud is the worst striker ever!
Arteta is the worst DM ever!
Sanchez was a waste of money!
Ramsey is shit again!

It was one game. Away from home. Early in the season. On a pitch that resembled a field.
We were poor. They were poor. Our players aren't up to speed yet. No one's players really are. Not Citeh, not the chav$, not the Mousers. If you watched the games at the weekend you will have seen that. Teams get fitter and sharper with games. We will have great games this season and the likes of Santi, Giroud and Arteta and Wilshere and Monreal will look world class, and then we'll have games where they look absolutely shite, and games where they will look what they are; average.
Whining like bitches on the rag about players is all well and fine, but ultimately many of our players are trying to play out of position in a system that doesn't suit their talents or strengths. This is down to Arsene. Pod is not a winger. Santi is not a winger. Giroud is not a lone striker in a 4-5-1.
I think it was clockender that made a great point above about the lone striker role. Very few top strikers can play that position effectively, why does anyone think that an average striker like Giroud should be able to. I have nothing but respect for Giroud for trying to play it, showing for everything, and not whining in the press about it. The annoying thing is, as average as Giroud is, we could get so much more out of him if Arsene played 2 up front. Similarly, we'd get so much more out of Santi and Pod if they weren't out wide as wingers. Remember Arshavin? I know he was a lazy whiney fucker but ultimately Arsene ruined him by constantly playing him out of position.
Agreed Arteta's time is up. He was brilliant for two years but his legs are gone.
Also, could you fuckers stop using the term "ticka tacka"? That was what the BarcaWhores played in their pomp - fast accurate interchanging of passes. What we play is the static, leaden, inneffective slow version of it; Tippy tappy.
Anyfuck, positives? It's early yet but Sanchez looks good in that he will run at players (until Arsene "coaches" that out of him). Chambers looks good, had Ba in his pocket bar once or twice.
In fairness DB10, the fans frustrations are all borne out of total anger at the continued failed system - games will come and go and some players will play better than usual (Monreal for example) and some will play worse than usual (Ramsey v place for example), but every single game throws up the same failings and the same frustrations. I know that you have said that already but fans are well entitled to feel frustrate if they are watching the same bollox week in and week out and that doesn't matter if we are 1 week into the season or 3 months into the season. I'm not at all sure that we could have gone to burnley Monday night and turned in a performance like the chavs did, so suggesting that none of us are up to speed yet is fair enough but they are considerably further down the road than we are

Agree totally regarding the chav. And that's the worrying thing! They weren't/aren't up to speed, but they showed real resolve and a better system and got a very good result. When they get up to speed they will be far better than us and our limited failing system. I've always agreed that fans have the right to be pissed off, but some of the hysteria on here is ridiculous.

^^This also.
We won't win the PL or the CL and we might have a tilt at the FA Cup and we might not. Basically not much has changed. We will scrap for 4th, might actually get 3rd (I think we will, only because the scum, mousers minus Suarez, and manure, are all so bad or average). Why people are getting hysterical on here at this stage is just a bit... a bit spazzy, really.
It's the deflation that comes with disappointment having had hopes built with the early purchase of Sanchez and the supposed promise of more to come. Rationally that was never going to happen . Sanchez was the star buy and any more will be shirt fillers. Chambers is a diamond but please don't put him into midfield , the press will have a field day labeling him the next Stevie Gee.

I doubt it will make any difference... if we keep him at cb, the media will label him the next Bobby Terrynand!
Went on twitter after the game to see the hero worship of Giroud still remains, even though he continuously shows how shit he is. This season will follow a similar pattern as far as he is concerned, he will chip in with the odd goal here or there against shit opposition, go missing against the big teams, and his 10-15 goals in the league will be seen by some as a successful season. Everyone that thinks signing a DM will sort out our problems is delusional, the reality is no team has ever won a league title without a quality striker, ususally two, but in our case, we don't even have one, top four at best with that lump of shit up front.

So, Rationally, why did you allow your hopes to build up when you already pretty much knew it wasn't going to happen?
I don't agree that Chambers or Debouchy are 'shirt fillers'. Now, if Song comes back then let's hope he is never anything more than that. Hopefully it is a shirt belonging to one of the people on the concession stands.
Actually I didn't and never have felt that our transfer dealings were sufficient. When I said any more dealings will be shirt fillers I meant from now on.

Thank fuck it wasn't our fans who threw the bottle at their manager, otherwise it would be "English clubs banned from Europe for 3 seasons. Platini saves morals of football". *word censored*.

because they believed the post FAC-win hype, and many - 48% on here tipped us for the title.
as you said "not much has changed" but some went to hyper optimistic, and now are borderline suicidal because, yes - yes the same fayre as the last 4 years will be served up again this year.
we'll lose on Saturday and it will be "Arsenal in Crisis" then beat besitkas and leicester and the AKB's will say "told you so, Arsene knows" etc etc then we'll be raped in both holes by city and be out of the title race by October - Wenger will blame the World Cup, Injuries and "decisions"....and then go to the beach.
Second game of the season away in Turkey coming away needing only to beat Besiktas at the Emirates to progress. More or less job done, they were a poor side and if we can't beat them at home then the Champions League is a non starter anyway.
In a strange way I prefer to see us grow into a season rather than a few years back when we'd come out dicking teams by 4 or 5 in August only to have packed it in by October.
Ze Germans are on the way back, time to knuckle down.
