Fergie v Wenger
Back to Back titles, say no more!
Painful but true
Painful but true
I think the very fact the Wenger has had us competing with United during his time in charge puts him at least on a par with Fergie. As previously pointed by many they are both better than each other in certain areas.
But if you look at our club since AW took over and the money he has spent to keep us in the top four, but really it was top 3 till Roly's mate came along, it stands nothing short of incredible. No other manager could have kept us in the elite 4 for so long. Look at teams like Leeds, Newcastle, the Trotts, probably even Portsmouth, they've all spent bigger than us but been unable to sustain any real challange.
Simply AW is a truely great manager.
Grudgingly, Fergie is very good too.

Some years ago, Ferguson was just ONE GAME away from getting the sack at ManU.
He had the good fortune of signing Eric Cantana from Leeds (Rumour has it that Leeds got rid of him because he was having it off with the wife of a team-mate). Eric's immense skill and influence really helped to change ManU around.
Ferguson also had a huge advantage over the other top teams in England. He had the fattest chequebook in the land. I bet he was crying into his whiskey, when the Russian arrived at Chelsea.
If OUR manager had the same financial resources, over the last ten years, I reckon ManU would have been "also rans". And the red-nosed one would not be very highly regarded.
We have the best manager in the land, if not the world.

You can't argue with what Fergie's done. I don't think it's fair to talk about the money either because the what he's spending is money he's made by being successful on the football field, plus having a very good marketing structure within the club of course....which is a big diffrence to how Cska stolen rubles got their cash.
However, it's not valid to compare them like your mate's done. Fergie's been at ManUre and in English football twice as long as Wenger so how can you compare what they've archived? In 9 years time Wenger may well have archvied a lot more than fergie ever did...since he'll hopefully will be sitting on a parkbench in Glasgow drinking left over by then

If AW were to take over the helm at OT, there's not a single manure fan who wouldn't be overjoyed. Any of them that say otherwise is full of BS.
If Fergie came to AG, I don't think we'd be as pleased. Great reputation but could he cut it with the Arsenal financial constraints in a league such as ours where money is king?
OK money doesn't guarantee success, but a lack of it almost certaintly guarantees failure.

I think it is difficult to knock Ol' Red Nose from a team perspective. I hate him with a passion and just the sight of his gum chewing Fizzog is enough to f*ck up my whole day.
His success is unparralleled (spelt right?) but would AW have done better with the amount of money Fergusmoan has had? I don't think so actually! I really don't think that AW would have signed many players anyway, regardless of the size of his purse. Fergusmoan and Wenger are two totally opposite characters. Fergusmoan is driven solely by winning. Nothing else matters to him. He will use anything he can to gain advantage for his team. Who introduced the verbal issue to the game? He did. Until then mind games were never mentioned. He doesn't care if his team is attractive to watch. He cares about it winning. The fact that he has a team that is both is a bonus to him.
Wenger on the other hand has an entirely different view of football. He wants to win, but he wants to do it the right way. He would receive no real pleasure from winning by kicking the opponent off the park. In his mind it would be a tainted win. He has a philosophy about how football should be played and that determines the players he goes for, not their price tag. Sometimes he cannot go for them because of the price tag, but in honesty there haven't been many that he has wanted and not got.
He believes in harmony throughout the squad and a way of doing things. He wants to show everyone how football can be played as a stylish and entertaining game and how that method can attain results. Ferguson wants to show everyone his trophy cabinet.
I think it is almost impossible to compare two so different creatures but as long as there are people there will be opinions. Who's best? I don't think either of them are. I just think they're different.

Ten Reasons why Arsene Wenger is better than Alex Ferguson
His team have been undefeated for an entire league season
His team hold the record for the longest undefeated streak 49 Games
He won the league at Old Trafford
He won the league at our most hated rivals Shite Hart Lane
He has never physically assaulted one of his players
He always answer interviewers questions openly and honestly
His team have scored in the most consecutive league games 55
His team have beaten Real Madrid and AC Milan away from home
His team hold the champions league record for matches without conceeding
He doesn't buy British
And as a bonus 11th in one of the most sporting gestures ever he offered to replay a game after his players had controversially scored against Sheffield United
