As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Guardiola and Simeone are rare birds - look at bruce, hughes, keane, robson, Tony adams, O'leary as examples of very successful players who went straight in on the back of their playing careers and either got relegated or busted their clubs budgets.

Naaaah mate - They're just lulling him into a false sense of security - and when he parks his new Gold coloured A.Martin Vantage at the Bowl - They'll paint it green.

As much of a legend as he is, i'm wary of Thierry coming in especially while AW is still here. He feels very much "in cahoots" with Wenger and it does feel like it would be a move simply to placate the fans. Thierry owes Wenger his career and his success for the most part and I can't help but feel that he'd simply be another yes man while Wenger has his current autonomy. Although I don't think Thierry is the right man to replace Wenger right now, i'd feel a lot more at ease with the whole thing if AW was totally out of the picture.
in a sane world, Thierry should be about five years away from managing The Arsenal - but even he coudl probably do a better job than the current incumbent.

Wenger will probably still be in charge in 5 years time.....

Absolutely. It would placate fans and reduce criticism of Wenger. In the same way that Wenger being in cahoots with the board means that a lot of Wenger fans are far less critical of the board than they otherwise might be.

Could not agree more ,TH14 would be brought in without any clear role just to appease the malcontents ,very very cynical move from Wenger !
Loads of stuff in the Standard tonight about Wenker saying TH14 is an Arsenal man and that he will undoubtedly come back home. I'm really torn, as I see the argument that he will just placate the AKBs but I just cannot see the gorgeous chocolate coloured God that is Thierry putting up with failure. Sorry, did I just say that out loud.
