Do you think that the fan base would have any influence in how Wenger used him?

The fan base appears to have fuck all influence in any other matter so why this?

I'm disappointed to read that you think of our top striker of all time is an "arrogant cock" who should "fuck off". What has he done to deserve that?

For what it is worth I don't think AW has any intention of re-signing him to the playing staff. If he did though, and he used him in the same way Manure used Larsson, I wouldn't have a problem with it for the rest of the season.

I always think of the old saying "if he's good enough, he's old enough" (steady on DB10, no getting excited now! ). Well why not say if he's good enough, he's young enough.

Maybe my words were a bit OTT but I dont know if I have ever been an angrier Gooner than I am now.

Now that being said, I have never forgiven henry for his behaviour to reyes when he was playing for us - maybe he was a cowardly gypsy who sometimes lacked football intelligence, but he was a young kid playing outside his country for the first time and should have been treated far better than he was by henry. At the time I felt that he was like a dog pissing on his terroritory and letting reyes know that he was the main man, and I thought that it was juvenile and unacceptable behaviour.
I also should say again that henry was a player that bottled every final that he ever played - in those big games he was either missing chances that he should score or he was totally anonymous  Those missed chances were the type of chances he would take 99% of the time in league games so you would have to question the mental strength of the man in those cup finals.

Btw his loyalty to le cock is still by far the biggest reason why I dont want him back at our club

I think your points about Henry's personality are valid, with qualification.

Whilst I genuinely believe he can be useful as a player for us this season, I am not one who buys into "Henry Worship."

He was not supportive of Reyes, though this may have been based on the Arrogones comments scandal as much as Henry marking his territory.
He was a bit of a diva, his hands-on-waist pose when things went against him was prissy.
A self publicist too.
His sidelines appearance in civvies when he was rested (seemingly against his will) against Spurs showed him making a point against Wenger.

But he did have heart, his inspired fight back against Liverpool in the 2003-2004 season when we were behind was one of the greatest performances the club has seen.

And he could support younger players, he took Walcott under his wing, and I remember him encouraging an almost forgotten Kerrea Gilbert during his handful of appearances.

He did and still does an awful lot for charity, conducts himself with grace in pubic, yet cheated on his wife.

So he is a human being with human faults, not a deity.

But based on what I have heard first hand from people who saw our 1930's and 1971 teams, and based on what I have seen with my own eyes from the late 1970's onwards, I still rate him as the best player we have ever had.

i'd put him equal in talent with Bergkamp - but Bergkamp is and was the model professional.

TH was a primadonna who would sulk when things didn't go his way - typically french if you ask me - Anelka and Petit were the same. I don't ever remember Dennis giving less than 100% and never ever heard of any issues off the pitch.

TH as far as i know, did work with Jeffers, Walcott and RVP - i can remember all three mentioning him.

in coaching terms, Dennis is now where TH should be in 5 years time - 2 years as youth coach and 3 years as assistant coach in a minor league.

btw - Dennis studied and got a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bath University while he was at Arsenal

if TH were to come back to JUST work with Giroud, Gnabry and Welbeck i'd welcome it, otherwise for any role i'd rather have Dennis.

I'd put it this way; Henry was our best ever striker but Bergkamp was our best ever footballer. And, for me, Bergkamp was the greatest ever player to pull on our jersey. 8)

And scorer of our greatest ever goal, indeed THE greatest ever goal. 8) 8)

(And if Flash comes on this thread vaginaring out of himself about "did he mean it?" then I'm going to molest him with no lube and much anger). :x

His Argentina goal was better

to be honest, for me personally what was a joy to watch and set him apart as the greatest footballer of his generation was his passing. the weight and angle were nearly always perfect as was his vision and anticipation. he truly was a thinking footballer who could execute.

he had the passing ability of a platini or cruyff and the finishing of marco van basten or mario kempes - only Rivaldo comes close imho.

Officially retired now; a proper Arsenal legend and one of the very best I have ever had the privilege to watch.

I fuckin' love that guy.

Not very. Allows him to work on his coaching badges. He can't go straight into coaching without them.

I think it is a good move for him in the short term. He can then focus on getting his coaching badges. I can't see why anyone would have a problem with any ex-player going to work for sky.
