I have to say Simeone or Ancilotti would be my preference but realistically im not sure the baggage Arsenal will carry into a new manager appontment would suit them, but that is an unknown.
There is one other German manager whose name I won't mention on here who if it weren't for his previous affiliations might be able to turn things round but again I think he is too comfortable where he is.
I genuinely think that immaterial of when he goes Wengers replacement won't come from the top tier of managers purely because the board will look for someone malleable and easy to control, but with some experience

Simeone and Klopp for me are both potentially attainable - they both built great sides and will just be sick and tired of being blown out of the water by their rivals able to spend four times as much as them. We don't have the completely bottomless pockets of City but we have more than enough to enable a manager to build a great team and sustain it, domestically and potentially continentally (obviously I am speaking in the hypothetical and NOT voicing my expectations for the next manager). We have the resources, infrastructure and platform but not the insane pressure, plus the chance to manage in the PL and live in London. Klopp would be my preference, Simeone also brilliant.
Martinez would come in the blink of an eye. If neither of the other two would come I would be more than happy to give him a chance.

Those might be valid points if the debate was "AVB or Wenger" but its not, it's which manager(s) would you ideally like if he went? You certainly won't find me arguing that Wenger hasn't brought embarrassment to the club, hardly a justification for choosing AVB from all the potential managers on the planet though is it?
Successful before England? The credit he built up in ONE SEASON at Porto in that tinpot league has long since been eroded. His failure at Chelsea I can brush aside as player revolt but despite their faults Spurs actually gave him time. He was treading water first season but it looked like he might be going somewhere, but then just went backwards his second season. You could see that his approach and philosophy was just not working. He could do okay but his CV hardly justifies him being a prime candidate.
I'll be honest Augie as somebody who appears to favour a disciplinarian approach and semi-idolises GG, it surprises me that you seem to have a strong affinity towards somebody whose approach has comprehensively failed and is clearly something of a shrinking violet who demands no respect from his players. Tbh if you're looking for a Wenger-type manager in the PL last few years AVB would be right up there.
