The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

There's just something about that fella that really pisses me off
he's been molly coddled since he turned up at Arsenal, given the number 14 shirt, plenty of cushy salary rises and opportunities to prove himself up front. and yet he's barely delivered, at the age of 26.

everytime i see him being interviewed he has the wide eyed eager look, like he is totally oblivious to any of the pressure on him to improve. whenever he fluffs a chance he just sort of smiles with that look that says "ooh- that was close. oh well, maybe if I get another three on a plate like that i might score"

basically, he thinks he's better than he is, and no-one has had the decency at afc to tell him.

If we can get Lewandowski and Wanyama in the rest of this window, I'll start the next season happy :barscarf:

I was at the Ireland v Poland game in Dublin a few months ago and I have to say that I was shocked about how poor lewandowski was  Maybe now that he is at Bayern he thinks that he is too good for his international team-mates, but whatever the reason I thought that he was piss poor on the night.
All that being said, he is a million miles better than giroud and is better than all the other strikers we have been linked with this summer - of course all that means is that we wont be interested in bidding for him much less actually buying him

Btw no top player would consider joining the victims as long as they (a) are not competing in the be all and end all cup (b) unable to hold on to their best players

Without a doubt; but considering how desperate he was to join Bayern, do you think he'd want to come to us?
I think that he just didn't 'gel' at Bayern and there's no way back for him to Dortmund. Apparently about a year before joining them he came out saying how he would love to join us as he is a boyhood fan of AFC and TH14.

I watched more of him at Dortmund than Bayern tbh but he looked class until he left. (He just doesn't seem to gel at Bayern, so maybe that is why his form dropped?). I agree though, I would rather buy him and if Banzema becomes available, Bayern can have him.
I still think that the victims could have got him if they built the team around him and let him lead them to the promised land.... 8) Thank God they didn't though.

Fair point; Guardiola seems to have a problem with out-and-out strikers, with Ibrahimovic a case in point.

If he is available then I agree we should bring him in – he was a class apart at Dortmund.

Imagine MU bought a world class striker, we bought none and we are back to square one with Giroud leading the line.

That will always be the case as long as we sit around waiting for them to enter the chase for players :x A club like our's is big enough to entice world class talents like reus, but it is very rarely that we will see a player opt to join us ahead of real madrid. We absolutely need to get our business done early but we say that every single summer  Of course it is very possible that le cock doesnt rate reus and dont want to sign him, but I fail to see how any manager in world football would not want him in their team. We should have bust a gut to sign him but le cock's way is to sit back and feed off the scraps that the big boys leave him

On a similar note I see that juve are in talks to sign draxler - I dont know enough about the guy to say if he would be worth signing or not, but I do know that we were interested in him 18 months ago so why not now ?
For a team that won the italian league and were runners up in the champs league, juve are undergoing some overhaul this summer
