THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My neck has never been further in - tbh my emotional involvement with the club has never been lower and I cant be arsed to even get angry at the mo  It isnt cos of another summer of failure but more down to the fact that nothing is going to change for at least the next two years and I'm fcuked if I am gonna invest any more of my time worrying about what those c.unts are gonna do to our club

To be honest I would probably turn my back altogether if it wasnt for this forum - being on here seeing others feel the same pain and enjoying the banter is the only thing Arsenal related that I am enjoying anymore

Confused why the hatred on deadline day. Would give Wenger a couple of days after retaining the FA cup to celebrate but deals should have been in place no later than end of July. If he bought anyone yesterday it would have annoyed me even more as we have already dropped 5 points, then any players bought would have needed time to gel.

A loss against Stoke, and a beered up crowd after watching the Saturday lunch game will lead to a lot of trouble. Difference is when crowd reacted against Villa towards Wenky he had a window to buy.

I can't ever be accused of bringing something worthwhile to the forum, I wouldn't have that

Yes I did show some displeasure at Wenger not doing what he should be during the transfer window but all my mates know me as an optimist so that was as you say brief, we are going to win the pl and cl with our forwards netting 70 goals between them and the team getting over 100 goals in a season.....too far

He's commenting on other clubs transfer dealings, has the man any self respect???? -

"What happened last night with Monaco, who sold Martial to Manchester United for 80million Euros, I've heard... Martial scored 11 goals in the French championship - that sums it up well.

That means it's not the money that's missing at the moment, it's not the desire of investment that is missing, it's the number of players available who can strengthen the big clubs.

"The problem at the moment is finding the players that guarantees you are a better team after, and that example last night shows you very well.

"Martial is a huge talent - he's 19 years old. The investment is absolutely huge as well. It shows you that there's not many players in the world who can strengthen these teams."

and what would an interview with Le Gimp be without some mention up of his beloved FFP -

"If you ask me what is the real significance of Financial Fair Play I cannot give you the answer"

SEND IN THE CLOWNS :barscarf:

The most worrying thing is his comments a while ago about Fergie, saying he couldn't see himself retiring ever, I mean if he doesn't want to go and the club clearly won't get rid of him, although clearly losing (or some would say lost) the plot he looks pretty healthy to me, as for stress a part from the odd water bottle slam when Maureen bets him yet again in a meaningful game all he needs to worry about is getting the massively rich Arsenal into the CL (you watch the financial handcuffs come off if the hallowed 4th place were under threat)

Sorry for the depressing post but I for one am glad I took maximum enjoyment out of the last two FA cup wins, because I can see them being a rare oasis in an increasingly barren desert

I agree, there really is a very good possibility Wenger will be here for life, and if he does make the decision to leave then I'm sure his ego is such that he will go upstairs and dictate things from there.
