We have been in this position every summer since 2008.

disagree with this because two seasons ago and this season the opposition all look very ordinary and with the right signings both these seasons should have been ours.

I do not believe we have had a balanced squad capable of winning the title since the 2007-2008 season.

We have never replaced Vieira properly who left summer 2005, but at least in 2007 - 2008 we had that one season where Hleb, Flamini, Cesc and Rosicky linked together well.
Late season injuries to Sagna, Flamini and Adebayor scuppered us at the final hurdle.

Our current squad is not deep enough, the first team is good if all our players are fit but since summer 2008 we have consistently lacked the cover needed in defensive midfield, and since RvP left we have consistently lacked the top level striker other teams have...by that I mean a proven one who gets 25 goals +.

totally agree with that quartz but i feel with both the season before last and this one, with the addition of one good holding midfielder and a striker 25+ goals. we would have walked the league.Chelsea are in dissaray, city keep dropping points and utd arent good enough. So again we have missed a trick thanks to mr wenger not being astute enough or having the foresight or INTEREST in winning another title. And Europe is just another competition where he has fallen big style every year because he has not got a clue on the euro scene and how to change and adapt.

I also agree that 2008 was the turning point. That's when the Groundhog Seasons started.

Had Wenger fucked off then, he'd still have been a legend despite his failure in the CL. Alas...

I know I haven't got the experience and knowledge of Wenger and the medical staff, but why when Cazorla was injured in the 45th minute was he left on to play the full game with an injury that has crippled him for 3 months?

Wenger said he finished "with one leg" but we could have subbed him but chose not too.

Seems a tad daft now.

Much like Ozils knee injury at Chelsea. Some of this nonsense fucking beggars belief.

You my dear old chap are the master of understatement. 8) :D

What Wenger seems as releasing info to gain sympathy for our plight just shows him up for the complete short-sightedness of such decisions.

Even if we'd made 3 subs then I'd have taken Cazorla off.

Wenger is beyond paraody. He's writing his own stuff now.

Think thats unfair, only 4 weeks ago watched my local team (2nd atm, and no injuries either AFAIK 8) ) key player pulled his hamstring, twinge really. As with Cazorlas situation there were 3 subs on already, so he just stood and walked up and down the centre circle, just getting in the oppositions way a bit. Didnt see the Norwich match cept on MOTD2 but was Santi running or just wandering up and down- if the former, its stupid, if the latter thats right IMHO.

You really cant take a player off leaving 10 men unless they literally cant stand.

Its what happens after thats the issue IMHO, the management of our injuries is an ongoing car (zola  ) crash :banghead:

Super quality Chambers to the rescue alongside Flamini in central midfield. Ramsey out wide replacing the injured Alexis and either the confidence less Ox or Billy Joel Campbell on the other

I'll see the line up tomorrow and weep.

Luckily Gibbs is back so no problem here, nothing to see... :barscarf:
