Sunderland FA cup Sat 9th 1500

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsene will probably play Özil for the duration though.

No great shout there already been stated previous, Fucking obvious

On track record Allardyce has always done similar, his priority is staying up

We're playing our reserves, got to go to Swansea on the Wednesday night in a pretty massive game for us at the bottom of the table then we just get back from that and have to go to spurs for an early kick off on the Saturday. Allardyce has been hinting for a while that these fixtures will mean resting players for the cup (not that he normally needs an excuse not to take the cup seriously).

The likelihood of watching two reserve sides face each other, along with two more important upcoming league away games and an extortionate price for a third round game between the two aforementioned reserve sides means the atmosphere probably won't be great either, quite a few not going. Whether we play our first team or not you'll batter us, we're a pile of shite

Defoe still knows where the goal is, judging from yesterdays performance

So we're starting our defence of the Emitates Cup...didnt we just win it in August?

Dull game warning ⚠..1-0 win with an own goal...not saying to who but we haven't scored an own goal this year. Flamini hasn't got one yet this season...

Wenger will lose just to piss fat Sam off...

I fucking hope so. I'd take silverware over the VT any day (unlike The Old Fraud).

So Fat Sam will throw the game to concentrate of the league. I just hope we don't do worse than them, with TOF inevitably disrespecting the competition again with playing the second string.

Club priorities are.
1) top 4
2) PL
3) Not getting embarrassed by Barca
4) FA cup
I see a ghost squad coming into view for Saturday, thats why I am sitting this out, like many others.
Maybe 55k in the ground, plenty of exchange seats to be had.

I'm going  Rare trip to the Bowl for me these days but there's something about the cup. An excitement that yet another game in the relentless march towards qualification for a tournament we have no chance of winning could never bring
