I wonder where exactly all this wonderful management over the last 10 years actually is, here's a clue for the Wenger apologists the man is supposed to be a football manager not a bank manager.
I'm sick of the bull about not having enough money to be able to improve the squad being used on one hand as an excuse but on the other hand none of them ever look at the amount of money he has squandered on sub par players wages week in week out...
What a load of bollocks this same old tired excuse is!!
The resources available to Arsene Wenger could have been used by any number of managers to keep the club where it was, ffs Roberto Di Matteo who was a new and inexperienced manager won Chelsea the CL therefore i'd expect a supposedly vastly more experienced and superior manager to have done far better over a 10 year period, where he was able to influence every single facet of the club, academy, reserves, training etc etc and during that period won 2 FA Cups right at the end of it and absolutely nothing else.
Oh and for another thing exactly where is this superior managers experience and ability being shown?
1) In the transfer market.... no, our 3 best buys recently, as good as they are, were not first team regulars who he poached from rival clubs they were players out of favour at their clubs who he still had to pay a lot for, hardly what you'd call shrewd wheeling and dealing to get them to come here on superior wages and guaranteed regular playing time.
2) Our Academy, seriously name me more than 1 or 2 good players who have come out of our academy and gone on to the highest level of football anywhere in the world in the last 15 years, but supposedly he is a great coach and mentor, what a load of bollocks he is a baby sitter who only ever gives those who toe his line a glimpse of a chance, embarrassingly our academy is not a patch on Southamptons ffs, immaterial of how we feel about the individual players they have made the club some serious money over the last 10 years!!
3) Financially, during the same period we were paying for our new stadium, AW bought in good players and then either wasted them tactically by playing them out of position, therefore wasting the money spent or even worse brought in below par players and then kept giving them bigger and bigger pay rises and kept them at the club (still does) long after their usefulness is over or they are proven to be not good enough.
4) Tactically ?!?! WTF the same old
embarrassing results have been posted on here so many times they are indelibly burned into our psyche and don't need bringing up again, altohugh add to the list the recent 4-0 to Southampton who had failed to win 7 previously.
5) CL, great we qualified and made the money for the group stages time and time again, and all too often when we got their we scraped through against inferior teams only to get smashed in the last 16. Success, maybe financially for the overall Arsenal brand but not for him as a great manager and not for Arsenal FC, (for those who can't separate or don't understand we are actually a football club and as supporters have a right to complain when our hard earned money and a lot of it is not being used to improve the team sufficiently over a very long period).
To finish, too many of our idiot supporters have fallen into this mythos surrounding Wenger that he is a great and irreplaceable manager and continue to regurgitate the same old spurious bollocks to prop him up, do some serious analysis and look at all the facts and figures.
I urge you to go and look at the top 10 wealthiest clubs in the world and see exactly how successful 9 of them have been in their domestic league, cup and european competitions in the last 10 years and how many managers those clubs have gone through and compare them to Arsenal it really is quite eye opening.
Oh one other thing, have a look at the financial figures too, there are very few players at those clubs apart from the absolute world class ones especially on the continent who get paid anywhere near what our ones get, especially way back 10-12 years ago, and when you add up the weekly wages we've squandered (even if they are only rough or speculative figures) you'll see AW burned a hell of a lot more cash than the Wenger supporters actually realise or will openly admit
