What grates on me even more is the media smugly declaring that this must now be considered to be a successful season. Would they have said that when we were top at New Year? Would they fuck, they would have laughed at this rosy outlook back then.
For all the contempt for blind pro-Wenger fans, at least they stick to their convictions. The vast majority of football journalists/pundits are spineless wankers who will change their view like the wind to suit whatever is popular.

Ahh yes, the 3-1 defeat where basically every single media outlet was deeply questioning Wenger's credentials/future and encouraging an attitude of revolt amongst the fans.
Before turning round in December and managing to crowbar the phrase "to think that many Arsenal fans were somehow questioning Wenger's future there after the Aston Villa defeat" into every other article.

But as journo's with no real allegiance to AFC I would expect nothing better from them - what I would expect though, is for proper Gooners to be able to decipher through the media bullshit and recognise what is happening in front of their own eyes

I'm morbidly fascinated by the Great Wenger Myth. Simeone's success (and to a lesser extent Liverpool's) should mean that both fans and media ask some tough questions of Wenger, and debunk some of the myths, but it never happens. Atletico's a FFP compliant club and has had to sell its best players, year in year out. Look at the strikers they've had to replace over recent years - Forlan, Hugo Sanchez, Torres, Aguero, Falcao and now probably Costa. They got the best young keeper probably in the world on a loan deal from the Chavs, but they spotted his potential. They have players like Arda Turan - who is just what we need, but His Arsene-ness might watch him all season while someone else pounces - and have moulded good, solid players into an excellent team.

So if an AKB says weve had a good season and I disagree by saying go and support Spuds ive pissed on my own argument,i don't get that at all,will somebody please explain because in my world of my Arsenal we should be seriously challenging for the top honours,not faffing around for the scraps year in year out and by the way its not a question of somebodies loyalty whos happy with 4th best every year,its about expectations,as a club ours our so low that if you are happy with what weve failed to achieve for 9 years and see 4th place as an acheivment then GO AND SUPPORT SPURS

If you can't see how a comment like that cheapens your own argument, then I can't help you.

I see you joined here in 2012. Ok, so you would have missed the glorious days when anyone that questioned Wenger on here was told to go support scum/chavs by a handful of AKB Jihadists. It was the standard reply at times. Sometimes this was said to people in the stadium too. So it became a kind of shorthand (or "LeftyEwok" ) for basically losing an argument or asking to be not taken seriously. If you reduced your debate down to that comment you were slaughtered on here and rightly so.
My point is that cuts both ways. Telling someone they should go support scum/chavs is cheap and devalues your argument. Also it does question their loyalty. Why would they stop supporting Arsenal so easily and go support someone else? Your comment implies that because they don't agree with you it would be easy for them. You mightn't have meant it that way, but that's how it reads.
Anyway, I'm going to ban you for lipping off at a mod, so adios.
