To anyone who wants the Victims to win the league because would disprove his theory that we can't compete with the oligarchs; while it would, he'd just turn it round in his favour and come out with shit like this

Atletico were obviously cheating by using something called "tactics". Never mind FFP UEFA need to look into the unfair use of tactics by most teams in Europe
If the Mickeys win the league he will come out with the "they only played one game per week and were little bit fortunate with injuries" crap.

Came out with that crap in todays press conference
What a surprise

If City or Chelsea win it, the old "financial doping" line will be trotted out. If Liverpool win it its because they were "little bit lucky".

If we ever miss out on Europe altogether I can really imagine Wenger storming back to compete for the title the following season :banghead:

“We had too many injuries. It is very, very difficult - you can have one or two but after that when you have too many injuries you always have to play the same players and that is detrimental to the efficiency of the group."

But when Liverpool play the same players every week it isn't detrimental and they are 'little bit fortunate'

So, which is it ?

Bit of a contradiction like "Champions League qualification will allow us to compete with the elite"/"Not being in Europe has allowed Liverpool to challenge for the title".

And so it begins...

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he will only make 'two or three' signings this summer
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ly-3488941
Arsene Wenger fears the World Cup could turn the transfer window into another last-minute trolley dash.
Wenger said:“From my experience, the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable.

“Everybody is focused in the country on their national team and there’s not a lot happening. People are away.

“I believe this year again you will have to wait until July 15 to start going.

“You are not the only one who decides when the business is done because it’s down to availability of players and the clubs who sell decide that.”

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal will pursue stability rather than spectacular signings this summer
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... ummer.html
"We want to add something that makes us even stronger. But number wise it will not be massive."
"You are not the only one who decides when the business is done, because it's down to availability of players and the clubs who sell decide that,"
"Teams still play in many countries and after that, from my experience, the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup. There are no players reachable.
Get those STs renewed boys! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wenger would make for a formidable politician, what with the amount of Orwellian doublespeak that falls from his mouth.

The smug arrogance just oozes out of every egotistical pore of thiis self serving, greedy, hateful money grabber.

Doesnt he just love it when the journos all hang on every syllable of his unintellible nonsense and then laugh uncontrollably at one of his hilairious quips. His lopsided smug grin goes into overdrive and his beady eyes dart around the room looking for adulation and adoration.

Contrast this with the rare occasion he actually gets a decent probing question or someone has the audacity to criticise or comment on his actual (lack of) tactics, substitutions, transfers etc and we see a very different Wenger. Gone is the lopsided smug grin to be replaced by the twitchy, figety and prickly " how dare you question me?" "Me?" " Dont you know who I am? I am Arsene Wenger who revolutionised British football, singlehandedly built the Emirates, qualified for the CL 16 yrs in a row. I have worked for 40 yrs in football. How dare you question me?"

Just a pity plenty of the journos and pundits actually buy into ths myth and dont actually look a little closer at the footballing side of things rather than letting him dine off past glories and ancient history
