For once I wanted to say something brilliant here, but... everything's said here for a thousand times already. Honestly, I must admit that I really didn't except him to come out with all this bollocks he's giving us during all these years... Oh God I want that guy disappear... Wenger out!

But he's going nowhere... I'm so depressed! All I can hope for is that we win that fucking FA cup... that is really all we can get.

So expect to concede 8 at the chavs, 7 at the mousers, 10 at City and 5 at the blue dippers next season.... He will just never learn. Rinse and repeat :banghead: :banghead: :barscarf:

here's more proof that once again he's not identified who he wants to sign yet, nor will do anything until July 15th or after that (I mean the man's got to have an expensive holiday after his arduous World Cup commentating duties).

It'll be Jenkinson at RB and last minute he'll go out and sign some mediocre striker as a back up to Giroud.

Doesnt he just love it when the journos all hang on every syllable of his unintellible nonsense and then laugh uncontrollably at one of his hilairious quips. His lopsided smug grin goes into overdrive and his beady eyes dart around the room looking for adulation and adoration.

Contrast this with the rare occasion he actually gets a decent probing question or someone has the audacity to criticise or comment on his actual (lack of) tactics, substitutions, transfers etc and we see a very different Wenger. Gone is the lopsided smug grin to be replaced by the twitchy, figety and prickly " how dare you question me?" "Me?" " Dont you know who I am? I am Arsene Wenger who revolutionised British football, singlehandedly built the Emirates, qualified for the CL 16 yrs in a row. I have worked for 40 yrs in football. How dare you question me?"

Just a pity plenty of the journos and pundits actually buy into ths myth and dont actually look a little closer at the footballing side of things rather than letting him dine off past glories and ancient history
Whilst I agree with you, I also think that a number of journo's see wenger in the same way we do - an absolute joke who needs to be kicked out the door asap - BUT because they have to tow the line set by wenger and the Arsenal Press Office - they are not permitted to ask any questions that might ruffle Le Knobhead and spoil his happy press conference/s....if they do they are quickly 'marked' and no longer permitted to ask questions, and so their paper/employer doesn't get the 'latest news' from Wenger and so they may well be out of a job.

All these press conferences/interviews are Sanitised by Arsenal Press Office it is an extremely well oiled machine that does not allow for anyone to spoil the fantasy and illusion that they think we do not see through.

(Edit:)Personally I would like to see someone like Jeremy Paxman or even Mourinho or Fergie give him a right good fecking grilling. he would shit himself - and then storm out of the interview...yes, he is an ideal candidate to be a politician...and we all know politicians are a bunch of self serving, lying, cheating *word censored*.
I largely agree with what you're saying. Although I doubt their views on him are as strong as on here, I think very few of them (John Cross) are actually completely taken in by this myth. They are just completely self-serving and write what people want to read above all else, if public opinion starts to shift again they will have the knives out.

And it is this self-serving attitude that sees him go unchallenged at press conferences etc. Although it's not completely under the club's control - Wenger does have contractual commitments to the PL to attend pre- and post-match press conferences unless I'm mistaken? And if a high-profile journalist from a popular outlet was banned/excluded and kicked up a fuss that would be a major story. As long as it came at a time when there was some public pressure on Wenger.

Ahh the old 'special circumstances' if this quote does not convince the most ardent AKB that he is a busted flush then I don't know what will. We should rename the club Arsene Groundhog FC!

The sliver of hope is still there for me. Still hasn't signed the contract. However, much like our time at the top, I think that it is a borrowed time.

His new quotes make my blood boil though. How can he be so naive to think that Vermaelen will be happy with another year on the bench or Fabianski will turn and sign with us. He is completely deluded - now his parking the bus comments which are stupid. There is pragmatic and then there is Wenger who wouldn't go against his own principles (whatever those may be) even when getting shelled. So expect more of the same next year.

I am still thinking that once the contract is re-signed there will be every chance that this could end in tears. For us - those tears are now. But for the Wenger luvvies, it will be probably some time next year when Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshire, etc break down and we fall away again.

Apoligies if this has been covered already.
AW thinks the World Cup will prevent early signings, I recall one summer he moaned that the players he could sign had all gone 'on holiday' so assure yourselves that is the next excuse post Brazil.
Then with £150m in reserve our 2 main targets will be Ferdinand and Kalou, both for free, add to that another 17 year old previously unheard of French prospect at right full back to replace the promoted Jenkinson and that will conclude the summer business. Of course Diaby will also sign an extension, having come through all the warm up matches unscathed (he will be injured again by mid September).

So, it won't be a busy summer of signings. This, despite some truly massive and embarrasing defeats when it was time to stand up and be counted. There is a horrific possibility to consider here - perhaps AW ACTUALLY believes they CAN win the PL with minimum additions. If he does believe they can (and unfortunately I think that is exactly the case), then it represents a really wonderful example of delusion. And still there are loads of people out there who believe massive success is imminent under him. I would suggest they just remember 6-0, 6-3, 5-1.
Yes, I am grateful for reaching the F.A cup final. On the other hand, rarely have I ever been so depressed regarding the team I support. 4th place next season it is then. Wow.

And that appears to be problem. AW seems to really believe he's close. It's not the sort of spin, get the confidence up, try to pull the wool - he actually thinks and believes it.

That's the core problem.

I imagine that's the line he feeds the board that we are very close, 1 0r 2 percent away etc, etc and the board lap it up.
He will also say there is no need to buy big because we have quality youngsters coming through

Surprised Wenger fielded such a strong side. Hope he rests players before the final.

I think Wenger knows for sure we wont win the Prem or progress in the CL with "minimum additions" He will only do enough to finish top four. Thats his objective. Hes under zero pressure to win anything. Top four is enough and this readjustment of "success" has filtered down to the rest of the staff and players. Everyones comfortable.

Why ? most had a 90 minute rest today ?

Spect it will be a near scratch team v Norwich - can't see Wenker risking the saviour Sanago prior to his next Wembley masterclass.
