THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Still my proudest Wenger moment. The mental strength we showed to come back from the irrelevant 8-2 and win the VT was undoubtedly his 'greatest ever achievement'

They will say it's the World Cup yr and it's not easy to buy top quality players. They like wenger will always able to come up with all sorts of excuses

Injuries were a serious problem, although the frequency and length of the injuries were a separate problem in themselves, but the failure to set up against the better teams and the subsequent hidings are a damning indictment of this manager.
Nothing will change in the 2014/15 season. This thread will continue and we will beat lesser teams and better teams will beat us. Nothing will change.

Even though I wanted him gone, I've now accepted he will stay and am just hoping we can have a successful season next year whether it's in spite of Wenger or not. At most he'll be here for another 2 years and by that point there could be a top class manager such as Klopp available that we may be able to attract. It's pretty evident the club have not made any plans for if Wenger was to leave and if so, it would leave us scrambling around for a manager which will probably end up being some obscure manager handpicked by Wenger to continue his 'project'.

That being said if we were to lose the FA Cup Final I don't see how Wenger could continue, the majority of fans would definitely be against him staying.

good piece. i just read that.

if we start badly or slowly i think the press will show no mercy with Wenger next year.

likewise if we lose the FA Cup Final.

i just don't understand how any board member or owner can be reassured about Wenger's future after the 6-3,5-1, 6-0 and 3-0 losses.

i can only think they know he won't spend the cash pile.

the only thing that can save us now is a start next august like Moyes had at united - chavs, liverpool and city away.

A good piece, however, where are these sort of pieces during the year?

The problem is the renewals. I know that Arsenal are a big part of our lives, but until people stop going - it is always going to be the same. I am packing it in this year. No more cash from me until Wenger goes.

It is supply and demand, unfortunately. The demand is there and there is still a significant amount of people who see Wenger as some sort of King or Deity, so they are going to pay up as well. I really fail to see Arsenal as value for the money anymore. We haven't played good football for a number of years now and I am bored.

No the regret is not there because we missed offensive players at an important part of the season. The solution is not always outside, the solution is as well inside your club where the disadvantage of having many injuries is you always have to play the same players. Then of course they score less goals because they are a bit jaded.

The internal market is coming

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
The bit in bold is what signing new players in the transfer market is there for you deluded fuckwit !!

I notice there are plans this year for a open top bus ride through Islington (should we beat Hull ) wheras the last time we won a trophy, in 2005, such a thing was deemed beneath us as it was "only the FA cup" and not worthy of a parade / celebration.

Good to see that Wenker can flip flop with the best of them if the situation requires it eh ?
