Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

According to SS we're in talks to sign him. That doesn't mean anything.

You hear a positive rumour and 'it's just paper talk' etc so why react to a negative one before anything's been signed? Bottle it up and save it for when we do sign 3 17 year olds and a 52 year old for £70m

It wasn't on the paper talk section, it was one of those ones that are official and "close to being completed" or whatever, looks like it's going to happen. :banghead:

I can't but help think that's Cahill?

Must be a (long-term) replacement for Terry but can't see who that might be.

What would happen if Gooners actually convinced the board to buy Gary Cahill for £30m or whatever Bolton want and he turns out to be the next Senderos? Because you have to wonder why Manchester United would spend a ton of money on center backs over the last two years and neither of them were named Gary or Cahill What would happen if Gooners actually convinced the board to buy Samba and he turns out to be the next Igors Stepanovs? Because as much as people like to say that he played center forward for Blackburn if you ever watched any of those matches you would know that it was a gimmick, like Manute Bol shooting three pointers What is going on with Gervinhos five-head?

I know where it was, I'm watching it but until it says Done Deal it doesn't mean anything. It's no more official than anything written in the paper

Speculation: Sky Sports sources understand Arsenal in talks with Southampton regarding a deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, although reports claim that the Championship club are holding out for £15million for the teenager.

Fair enough, just if it is completed then I'll be livid, sign him after we've done the big deals ffs

I completely agree. It's pointless refusing to spend on big players and then spending a fortune on an unproven youngster from the lower divisions but until the end of the month (EC) there's not too much we can do.

Pirestible claims Nasri and Fabregas will stay at the club. It has went unseen.

Why do you think/delude yourself about this? Sounds like the ramblings of a foolish old French manager.

Do you just spout random bullshit to paint Wenger in a better light.

15m pound for a unproven teenager from the 3rd division.

Probably about 15 times his value.

This is total negligence of a manager's responsibilities, how can anyone possibly be defended by any of the AKB's on likely 606 and official for dilly dallying and signing players who haven't even turned 20 yet? It's as though he's making us pay for his early years here.

Unless this magical 3rd division teenager turns into Thierry Henry overnight I couldnt give a flying fuck.

Im sure hes fast and can run with the ball by 35 year old lower league players, sign him up for 20m .....

If you look in the Gervinho thread, you'll see my thoughts. As I said in there, I follow French football quite closely, and I wasn't sure he should be one of main transfer targets.
But I bet you suddenly think hes the bees knees now like all the other AKBs.

Another waste of space player to join the scrap heap.

Hes too busy watching the Denver Nuggets aim for field goals, and watch players for the MLS super draft.
