As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No, I think it is true.
Both those who go and those who do not go can have valid opinions, but
if you only watch on TV you do not see the whole pitch and how the players line up in space or make off the ball runs, or how they talk to each other during a game, unless a skilled director shows replays from different angles.
By the same token you could go to every match and yet not have a clue beyond what is actually happening on or near the ball at any one time.
Alternatively, you could be stuck at home with only the television footage as a guide yet still be able to make accurate assessments about what's happening in terms of right and wrong tactics, who is playing shit or well, the players putting in effort and those that aren't, and other such football judgments.
So in my opinion, going to matches doesn't automatically make you more knowledgable about football than someone who doesn't get to games - especially if the latter has some experience of playing or coaching the game.

I would say that the only way you get to see the whole game and everything that goes on during it, is from sitting in the upper tier.
When you're down lower and at one end of the pitch it can be difficult to make out exactly where the ball is in relation to say the 6 yard box or the edge of the area.
Many time I've scratched my head wondering why a player didn't shoot as he looked to me to be right on the edge of the box only to see the replay and find out he was miles away from even there. Or wondered why the keeper didn't come for a cross as it looked right on top of him.

Last i heard its being sliced into pieces and used in travel lodges as bedding
I heard it's going to be used to mummify Flash Gunner. When his remains are discovered in 2000 years' time, the perfectly preserved Banner will read..."Wenger thanks for the memories, but it's time to say goodbye." Thus it will be proclaimed that this is the body of the Arsenal God, Wenger! The remains of Flash will be worshipped by the Wengerites, and he will receive the adulation for centuries forth.

There are loads of people that go to every game that would not be recognised. Plenty of wallflowers that are just background detail at every game, who keep their heads down, and themselves to themselves.
To go to every game, you don't have to be a big mouth tattooed oik that likes to take their shirt off and swear like a sailor!
Re : Mickey Cannon, I know him and he's a nice guy, but I see the irony in the forum slagging him off for his opinion, when a lot of the content on here is the same versus certain groups or indivuduals where not all the facts are known.

That's not irony - it's called consistency!!
And anyway, this isn't a recent thing. I remember Mickey Cannon having a pop at the online gooner users in the fanzine ages ago because of the perceived negativity of our chances. Yet who has been proven right in the end?
So him slagging the users of the forum off shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone aware of his 'work' as the guy makes Red Member's contributions seem like those of a skeptic!!
