Crowd trouble at the Everton match, October 18th

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Some really interesting views on this thread. I myself was in block 6 so I only first noticed anything when the police started wading into the divide between the Everton and Arsenal fans, obviously I couldn't make out what was going on at all.

While I don't condone spitting or unprovoked violence in any way (whoever does it), and am shocked that the normally comatose Club Level seemed heavily involved on Saturday, is it wrong to feel a tinge of pride/satisfaction that The Arsenal seem to be getting a bit of an unsavoury reputation among opposition fans? Probably. This is not the first time I have heard complaints from rival fans at The Grove though, was there not trouble when Villa came here last season?

As for the hope that there will be no recriminations at the return match at Goodison; fuck that! I just checked the fixture list; we go there on Wednesday January 28th; kick off 8:00pm. Plenty of time for beer and trouble to brew so I'd say brace yourselves.

The two main questions I want to bring up though are the stewarding and the seat allocation for away fans at The Grove.

What should be the consequences for the stewards themselves and the different types of stewarding there appears to be for home and away fans?

And is it time to have the away section a mixture of upper and lower tier? I don't see how this could be completely enforced with Club Level running through the section but maybe it is time for this to be done?

Having browsed the Everton forums to see there reaction. They make it pretty clear that they want revenge so to speak. Wearing colours probably not advisable for this away trip :D and walking round the streets in that council dump singing "Your Uncle is your Brother, your Sister is your Mother, your FUCKING one an-other, the Everton Family, do do do do do do do do" is not the greatest idea  . Me and Crocit are staying up there, booked a hotel
