FULHAM THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Firstly, I think it's totally unfair to criticise Denilson! :banghead:

He's not a Defensive midfielder he's a direct replacment for Cesc. Although I will admitt that his passing ability has been very poor at the moment. and don't get me started about Diaby!

Wenger chooses to play Denilson there. Song is our only Defensive midfielder in the squad.
We'd all moan if Eboue or Cesc was to play that role also.

What I do find totally amazing is just how weak the midfield was in general. Lets not take anything away from a good Fulham side. Okay there away form is shocking but this is the highest Fulham have been (ever?)in a long time.

But it's not that we had a 5 man midfield which not only fulham coped with but bossed!
We're Arsenal and should be beating Fulham at home.

The only plus was when I saw Eboue on the touchline I could only think that he'd replace either Arshavin (with Nasri moving to the left) or Nasri directly.
Intrestly, he came on for Sagna. Back to where he should be.
And I'll have to say he was good..no, wait Great! in the short space of
time
In fact he soon became the most dangerous and most threatening player causes Fulham to open up (a bit). This despite being a right back a testiment to Eboue or highlighting how poor the rest of the team were.

I have in the past defended eboue purely on the basis that he is a full back that is being played out of position.........continually  This is an expirement that has clearly failed but yet wenger continues to persist with it(arsene knows of course  ) which has lead to the vast majority of fans turning on eboue to the point that even if he scored a bag of goals and was world footballer of the year I still dont think the fans would support him. I agree that there are other factors in play which have turned fans against him but, while he is no sagna, he still was not a bad right back and I for one would be quite happy to see him played there if sagna was out for any game 8)

I agree that he is not a bad full back. He has actually been one of our better players over the last two games which speaks volumes about the rest of the team. I just cannot understand why he feels the need for the theatrics all the time. if he could play at right back and cut that shit out of his game I'd have no real problem.
