It's one thing to keep faith in good players when they're going through a rough patch. But to have blind faith in a player with limited abilities and who shows little signs of improvement is unrealistic.
Agreed. That's easy for Lumplard & the Chavs to say when your team’s been winning trophies for the past 5 years, and challenging strongly for the ones they haven’t won, and is packed full of quality players in every department who generally always play as if they give a fuck.

Let Chelsea go 5 years no trophy, only challenging sporadically, and generally falling significantly short even when they do. Let them have a team with too many players who just aren’t good enough & all too often put in half-hearted performances. Then we’ll see if they’re still such perfectly "loyal" fans.

I genuinely hope the fans don’t get on Theo’s back, I’ve never thought it does any real good for the player or the team as a whole. But Theo’s generally been well supported & encouraged by Gooners & been given his fair share of leeway. It needs to be a 2-way street.

It's the right decision, he is not good enough and all the wide men that are going whether you like them or not offer more than Theo does,Theo has no right to be annoyed at the decision he has done nothing to earn a place, in fact i think johnson should be more disappointed than Theo at missing out, he is a better player and would have given the team far more given the chance..

As for Theo as an impact sub, yes his pace is blistering and can put fear in to tiring defenders and now and then he gets it right on the end of his blinkered runs, but if it was the last minute of a game and we broke away with Rooney and Lampard breaking unmarked in to the area Theo is about the last man in professional football i would want on the ball about to try and pick one of them out...

Hopefully theo will blame Wenger for his exclusion and put in a transfer request, then we can get a bit of cash and replace him with a player that is able to play as well as run..

Reckon a proper pre-season with us should be better for Walcott, and Arsenal, than him going to the World Cup.

Be crazy if fans get on his back, he is not a player who gets loads of bookings and no one can say he does not run enough!

Moments like Wigan away where he held off the defender and scored showed real quality. He just needs to be consistent, and hopefully he can get confidence pre season to help that.

Reckon Chamakh arriving and RvP being back in the team at least gives him something to aim for when crossing, instead of the empty spaces too often left last season.

I think Walcott Not going to the World Cup is a blessing for Arsenal, Theo needs to learn that hes not gonna get everything he wants and may be even more determined to get himself back in Capellos thoughts..

Time to step up Theo..

Perhaps our players, midfielders in particular don't bust a got very often to get in the box because the delivery is generally very poor and if they have committed themselves they are left way out of position...a midfielder will feel a lot more confident making runs in to the box if the delivery is good, which it isn't with us ..

But what top team does not have a decent central midfielder running into the box?

We do not, and we were third.

Last decent season we had 2007 - 2008, Flamini and Cesc worked hard and got into box and genuinely challenged for the title.

People like to knock Lampard but his runs from central midfield are a big part of Chelsea success.

Have to say I feel sorry for Theo, but on form he just doesn't deserve to be in the squad.....but then neither does Upson which is a selection that has really wound me up....Sol Campbell is in much better form than Upson, now dont get me wrong i proably wouldnt have brought sol if it was my choice, but upson ahead of him.....what a joke!!!!!!!!!!

completely agree with swale here.

we all hate these crunts week in week ut then are supposed to support them when they play for the national team....most of them are scum and would be in the nick if they wernt footballers (rooney, terry, stevie g, defoe, rio etc etc)

if there are a few gooners in the team, thats slightly different, as i want them to do well (ie at euro 96, adams, spunky etc?)

i hate the crunts who go and watch them, most are just in it for a fight, and alot of them chnat vile and abusive stuff at the very same players week in week out...i find it so hypocitical.

i hate all the plastic supporters who come out for england games, those who havent a fucking clue about football and then get there knobs out cos its the world cup and pack the pubs watching it even though they know fuck all...in qualifying or non england games they crawl back under there stones. i hate all the shitty car flags and window flags they hang out, its complete bandwagon jumping and it really pisses me off.

these people should get down there local league 1, 2 blue sqaure team and show them some support.

come on england get knocked out on pens in the 2nd round and let these plactics crawl back into the woodwork

Lampard is a master at it, his timing is excellent but if the delivery is poor it would be worthless and he would be wasting his time and energy making those runs, i guarantee if he played for us within a couple of months, he would be making a fraction of the runs he does for chelski ..

We need players on both flanks wide men and full backs who can cross a good ball, that then encourages the opposite wide man the centre forwards and the centre mids to commit themselves to the box when we have the ball out wide..because they know there is a good chance the wide man is going to pick them out..
Currently the scenario is they know the wideman is either not going to get his cross past the first defender or if he does it's unlikely to be to one of his own players, it doesn't inspire you to commit whether that is your natural game or not, if you get the delivery right consistently even the centre halfs won't mind committing themselves..

....and Heskey! Capello is supposed to be someone who picks on form so how the fuck did Heskey get in the 23???

And although I agree that Theo shouldn't be going I do think that Capello should have given some indication to the players ahead of the announcement. Theo obviously thought he was in (and that couldn't have been based on performance!), told the media and now looks a bit of a tit!
