while I agree kos Fuckd up, two strikers were free to tap in an obvious pull back, our hole back line has to take some blame - btw by his standards average done OK

today was the first time i've seen Koscielny play live and i couldn't believe the build of the guy! i can't think of a succesfull central defender so slightly built ever anywhere, after watching drogba bullying the like of gallas what the fucks he gonna do with Koscielny, would Sol have been pushed of the ball so easily for their goal today, no way but he's wasting the end of his career fighting relegation in gordieland....if you haven't got the tools for the job you've no chance, it's not Koscielny's fault but i can't see how a guy so slight can be a top class central defender

Yeah, agree with this. He's a very very slight build. He was brushed off the ball easily, and Diouf is one of the more lightweight strikers he'll face this season.

Someone mentioned Average having a good day. No idea what happened, I'm guessing the game was played in a parallel universe as Walcott got man of the match, he tore a hole in the net, and no-one came to see Eboue

augie wrote:As a fan of clichy I thought that he was very poor today :o His positioning for their goal was shocking especially for a player as experienced as he is and I felt that too often he hesitated going to the ball thus allowing their scumbags to gain possession. He really has to pick up his game and fast cos imo that has been 2 dodgy performances in 3 games
He's been toilet since that afternoon in Brum.

Kos was a little weak today. Squillaci is going to be our #1 CB for the season I feel, and Kos looked really nervous/stressed at times; perhaps the pressure of a new signing has irked him a little.

He'll get it though, I think he'll show that thinner guys can be tough, and he does have some height which is good.

Clichy, not really the thread for it, but I agree with augie, not a great game today. Wouldn't mind trying Gibbs in our next fixture; I'm not one of those guys who thinks he should replace GC22 but wouldn't hurt to let Gael know his position isn't a lock.

don't think kos is particularly tall either is he, maybe he's been signed to play as a defencive midfielder... but his nerves looked shot for the rest of the game after their goal and his passing looked well dodgy

When Kos has no pressure applied, he looks a good player, good on the deck, but once pressure is applied he buckles, he worryingly reminds me of Senderos... :? :?

Reading a lot of these posts im wondering if i was at a different game yesterday. A lot of good performances on the pitch Sagna especially.

As for Clichy.... what can the poor guy do ?
he gets forward as much as possible but for gods sake when you play with Arshavin as you cover man ??????? you are bound to be got at a few times, Arshavin offers him no protection at all, you may aswell think Clichy is doing the work of 2 men.

Yep Kos was at fault for the goal but i dont think from a very good performance at Anfield he should be thrown out already.

Then agai a lot of you on here do like to slag of our team and manager ?

he has 5 weeks to bulk up on the rio sweets or drogba is gonna rape him and destroy his confidence for years like senderos, squillachi might be a better option to deal with drogba

Definitely agree, Squillachi and TV will be our first 2 centre-halfs, dodgy game for Koscielny, poor first half but better in the second, but his lack of physical build is worrying

With formation we are playing it is not impossible that Djourou or Koscielny or even Gibbs could line up alongside Song as one of the deep midfielders if Diaby or Denilson are out.

Actually that idea has crossed my mind. He'd make a good DM imo, he's aggressive, quick on the deck and good on the ball. Good pass on him. Song's back up? Interesting.

As a CB though, he's not ideal. Not for this league anyway.

Had a hell of a game last night, that tackle on Lennon was amazing - I really thought we was doomed when I see that shite *word censored* run towards Flappy like that.

Kos is looking more and more like a bargin each time he plays.
