Guitarist's Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I don't even know what type of acoustic guitar to buy, something cheap for beginners... :?
I started about 18 months ago and pm'd DB10 for some advice he told me not to get the £40 acoustics out of Argos as they have a shit sound and youll get so frustrated youll give up so i went to my local music shop and asked their advice ended up getting one for around £80 - £90 wich is really nice for a beginer
Cheers for the advice Flash, how have you come on in 18 months?
Not sure if that is a double entendre

They suggest you play for 30 minutes 4-5 times a week no more, keep it short and enjoyable. I try to play the guitar as much as i can but with my small children its not always easy. i now know a few chords and can play parts of lots of songs and 2 songs complete so its far more than i knew 18 months ago and really enjoy it
Ooops  Thinking out loud there  I used to work in WH Smiths when I was at school on the weekends, and one night before Christmas I was working overtime through the night with a load of other part timers, this girl was talking to me about how she is a vegetarian and I was bored as fuck and she was a dog. I meant to say 'so how long have you been a vegetarian' but instead I said 'how long have you been a virgin'   She left sharpish

That does sound good, I might go and try find a guitar on the weekend. I've always wanted to learn to play the accordion too for some reason :?
Mouth organ?
