Under 24 hours until his debut!!!!!
Anyway, he has finally spoken, and his interview from the club site is below:
Nicklas Bendtner has declared his intention to get his career "back on track" under the tutelage of Steve Bruce at Sunderland.
The striker has joined on loan from Arsenal in search of first team football and jumped at the chance to sign for Bruce, who he also played for at Birmingham during the 2006-07 season.
The Sunderland manager is delighted to have added a proven Barclays Premier League performer to his ranks and Bendtner is equally pleased to have signed on at the Stadium of Light.
"This has been a very long time on the way so I'm very happy to finally be here," he said.
"Steve Bruce was the main reason behind me choosing to come here in the first place.
"I heard about the club and the players too and decided this was a good opportunity for me.
"It is a chance to try and get my career back on track."
Bendtner has scored more than 50 senior goals and is a regular at international level for his native Denmark, for whom he scored twice against Norway in midweek.
The towering frontman began his senior career with a handful of appearances for Arsenal before joining Bruce at Birmingham in August 2006.
The loan spell gave the striker valuable experience before he headed back to North London and he is hoping to prosper under Bruce's leadership once again after slipping down the pecking order at the Emirates.
"Having played under Steve at Birmingham I know what he is all about," said Bendtner, who has played more than 150 times for Arsenal.
"He plays an attacking style and likes to get the ball forward, which is something I value and is how I like to see the game played.
"I want to try and get back on track. I have not played consistently. Being at Arsenal and sitting on the bench for a long time was not the ambition I had.
"I am really looking forward to being in a new place and playing well here."
Bendtner could make his Sunderland debut at the Stadium of Light on Saturday against Chelsea, with whom he has enjoyed several cross-London battles as an Arsenal player.
The frontman is looking forward to stepping out at the SoL - but says it's time for the talking to end and the action to begin.
"It's always been a big pleasure to come here. The fans have always been great, they cheer their team on and you can feel that every time you play at the Stadium of Light.
"It is good to be on their side now. I hope to show them that I'm back as I was before.
"Let me put it this way. It's been a long time since I've played game in, game out. When I do that, I'll be a different player than I've ever been before.
"Instead of talking too much I would just like to go out and show the fans what I can do on the pitch."
