Well Fergie was after him for 10 mil, so I doubt both of them were hoodwinked into going after someone who was just 'fairly good'
sorry mate but if ferguson really wanted him he would have got him

Exactly, he doesn't get every player he's in for. The lad wanted to come to Arsenal.

A Centre-Back that's turns slower than fresh milk; a left back that is good going forward but questionable in defence at best; two injury-prone midfielders; a 17yr kid from Div 2; a winger/forward that will miss 2 months of the season and another forward that would have been struggling to get a start at Lille. What's not to like? :? :?

Having a player like Benayoun on the bench ready to come into the team is not a bad thing. I don't understand people judging him simply because Chelsea let him go rather than forming their own opinion. He's a good player who's been around top clubs for a few years and always links play and makes chances. Not someone we'd want in our starting line up but he'll be a good squad player.

Ramsey probably spent every minute of last Sunday regretting having ever joined us. Not many quality players would ever choose to join Arsenal over Man United. Fergie is a far superior developer of young talent than Wenger, irrespective of what AKBs claim. And players crucially will win things under him and become winners - look at Ronaldo. If he'd actually signed for us (Fergie outbid us for him) then he'd have gone the same way as Fabregas: great talent, surrounded by mediocrity.

I know this is going to sound harsh but fuck it: Carl Jenkinson, Conference kid or not, is just fucking awful. Yes I know it was OT but seriously, look at Crawley Town's left back who played at Old Trafford last season?? Light years ahead of Jenkinson, Jenkinson looks absolutely clueless. Like he's never ever played football before clueless I mean. And WENGER is the man who's gonna coach him to defend??!

As for Oxlade Chamberlain well I refer you to Theo Walcott. He has been at Arsenal FIVE years and: he still cannot cross a ball when running at pace, still cannot beat a man, still takes the wrong option each time, still runs into blind alleys, still does not play one-touch, still does make back post runs, still cannot string a run of games together etc....

Wenger spent £13 million on Oxlaide Chambermaid but cou ld not bring himself to use that cash instead to either up his bid for M'Vila (who is a quality player) or just pay out the monies for Gary Cahill.

And if people want me to name a quality striker who is not a marquee name but that we could have signed: NILMAR. Proper Brazilian international, big league European experience, right age and not a Galactico signing, but still quality. Higuain could have also been got since Florentino Perez at Madrid admitted he was willing to sell.

So add Wenger's £25 million proft to the £13 mil wasted on Oxpot Chamberpot (not even mentioning Joel fucking Campbell etc)....and that is £38 million that could have been spent signing Cahill and Nilmar. A quality PL defender and a quality Brazilian striker.

Pfffft....

Why is this even relevant? Because they're both mixed race and played for Southampton?

Incredible. Yeah, of course, he's exactly the same as Walcott....because you've seen him turn out for Arsenal for the past year and can judge him really really easily.

What you mean top clubs like Racing Santander and Chelsea reserves?

We have signed a german international, a brazilian international, a korean international and some experienced, proven premier league players for a change BUT YET some quarters in the media and some fans are still criticizing. I am curious to know exactly which players these people felt Arsenal should have signed given their "limited resources". Mertesacker is a german international with a wealth of experience, same with Santos. Arteta and Benayoun are proven premier league players and can really show the way for the younger players. Arsenal only lost 3 first teamers, there is absolutely no need for them to spend for the sake of it.
