We should give Giroud around 12 games to prolong the question that he might be great ?
It is glaringly obvious to anyon e willing to look, that he is of such in ferior quality that he wouldn't make it at any premiership club.
Olivier Giroud - Another Alan Smith or "Le Chapman"?

I don't doubt for one minute that he will still be here in 5 years, provided the idiot in charge is still here.SteveO 35 wrote:Maybe he just needs a 5 year 'adaption period' like SQ Parkgoonersid wrote:The thing is Wenger whilst unwilling to admit it, realises he has bought another french dud, so a run of 12 games will not be something Giroud will ever be able to look back upon when reflecting on his Arsenal career.supergeorgegraham wrote:Really if Giroud is utter shite then we have big problems. 2017 will be the year when the Real Fans Have Real Patience banners will be out once more as his latest 3 year deal comes towards the end. Get your 'Who'd heard of Wilshere 7 years ago' banner ready and I'll organise the party for the 12 years without a trophy celebrations.goonersid wrote:I don't doubt for one minute that he will still be here in 5 years, provided the idiot in charge is still here.SteveO 35 wrote:Maybe he just needs a 5 year 'adaption period' like SQ Parkgoonersid wrote:The thing is Wenger whilst unwilling to admit it, realises he has bought another french dud, so a run of 12 games will not be something Giroud will ever be able to look back upon when reflecting on his Arsenal career.supergeorgegraham wrote:Really if Giroud is utter shite then we have big problems. Hey Baba - I think we might be in for Fletcher in the next transfer window. Saw a picture of him celebrating in his Sunderland shirt with the logo 'Invest in Africa' emblazoned accross it. If that isn't a come and get me plea to Wenger, I don't know what is !Babatunde wrote:Steven Fletcher of Sunderland, who cost the same as Giroud, and moved late to Sunderland, now has more league goals than Giroud, Podolski and Chamakh combined. Of course though, Arsene is starved of funds![]()

If Wenger spent 14M on Fletcher you would have pissed blood Baba.

Mate think its have to read:
"Investissez dans l'Afrique"!
THEN Arsene would be all over that!!

Re: Olivier Giroud and Alan Smith
Oh I agree. And I'm not saying I wanted him. I'm just saying that even jokers like Fletcher look like Van Basten next to Montpelli's answer to Emile Heskey!Gunnersaurus wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Hey Baba - I think we might be in for Fletcher in the next transfer window. Re: Olivier Giroud and Alan Smith
I know you don't rate him so that's not the question but even you must see he has no chance of trying to find his feet here if he's not given a run of games, 25 mins here, a game there and back to 20 mins here is just destroying him even more.
I blame fucking Barcelona and Spain, as soon as they played in the Euros without a proper recognised centre forward and Barcelona coped without a proper front man then you knew Wenger would be along soon enough to copy it.

Re: Olivier Giroud and Alan Smith
Should have raided everton for Jelovic (sp), we just needed a good finisher did not have to be a 40 million pound player just an average prem striker rather than a gamble on a french player, then he could of bought a pacey prospect from wherever as backup and we would be fine.
Problem with Giroud imo he has no ability to sprint so when he rounded the keeper for example the ball had rolled soo wide by the time he got to it the angle was harder than it should be, you don't have to be realy quick but i think you need to have some form of acceleration at least to play in england he seems to be geared like a truck.

Re: Olivier Giroud and Alan Smith
Only getting chances from 8 yards out seems to be Giroud's problem so far. And lets be honest from that range its really only a half chance.
If the team can work to get him about 6 yards closer to the goal before passing to him then I am condident that, given time, he can hit begin to hit the target and working opposition keepers.
Lets not give up on this guy just yet. He could prove to be deadly from a yard or two given the service.

For what it is worth I still like darren bent as a striker

Put it this way. Darren Bent.....or Bendtner, Chamakh, Park or Giroudaugie wrote:For what it is worth I still like darren bent as a striker
In that context I like Darren Bent too. Come to think of it, in that context I also like Emile Heskey
