Very harsh, he has easily been one of our best players this season and I was one of his biggest critics but he has played well......

The manager has already instructed his chief scout, Steve Rowley, to draw up a list of potential replacements at right-back as he plans what is expected to be a busy summer of comings and goings at the Emirates. The Arsenal board reiterated their support for Wenger at a routine board meeting on Thursday and will back their manager of 17 years in the rebuilding process, even if the team do not succeed in overhauling fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur over the remaining 12 games to qualify for the Champions League.

Players such as David Villa, Victor Wanyama, Etienne Capoue and Pepe Reina will come under scrutiny as potential signings, while fringe players from the current playing staff will be moved on. The majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke, attended the meeting as expected, with Wenger delivering a report on the team's progress on the pitch, with other department heads doing likewise for their respective briefs. There will be funds available to spend, with the impact of the new shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates Airlines, worth £150m over five years, to be felt, while the club are also in negotiations over a lucrative kit deal with either Nike or Adidas

As I have pointed out on the reduced budget thread, the Emirates deal will be a lot less than 30M per annum if we are not in the champions league. :(

This has got to be some sort of record, planting rumours about transfer activity that won't happen as early as February so that they can persuade season ticket holders to renew because this year they really, really, really have seen the error of their ways and really, really, really will buy top class talent. All you need to do Arsenal fans is give them loads of season ticket renewal money.

Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna this summer, according to the Metro.

Ogbonna has been in sensational form this season for the Turin club as well as the Italian National team and has been attracting attention, not only from Arsenal but both Liverpool and Manchester United have sent scouts in recent weeks.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to add defensive reinforcements this summer and while Ogbonna is open to a move to the Premier League, he wants to move to a club that is playing Champions League football:

“A move abroad? Why not? My dream is to play in a Champions League final.”

Reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal will face competition from other Serie A clubs; however it is unlikely that any of them will be prepared to pay the £17m asking price

We all nkew this when the goofy dyke *word censored* signed for $hitty

"ROBERTO MANCINI last night slammed Samir Nasri.
The Manchester City boss is furious with the form and attitude of the £24million Frenchman this season.
Mancini claims Nasri is playing at only 50 per cent of his capabilities.
He said: “Samir can do better than this year. He is a top player but he has not been playing at his level. Sometimes a player thinks it’s enough what they did the year before and doesn’t understand that every day they should improve.”
Mancini also identified Luis Suarez, Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani as City’s likely summer transfer targets.
Nasri, 25, was left on the bench for last week’s FA Cup win over Leeds.
And he is unlikely to be recalled for tomorrow’s home clash with Chelsea.
Mancini added: “Samir has fantastic qualities. He should always play well.
“A player of this quality could be one of the best players in Europe. But it’s not happening.
“If you are a top player you know you can improve until the last day of your career. But sometimes you get players who think it is not important to work and this is their worst mistake.

My ideal summer would be taking half of Dortmund and a decent GK. So if we are already dreaming about Falcao, let me dream with this :)

GK?
Verm/Jenko,Hummels,Nacho
Arteta,Jack,Gotze,Santi
Wally,Poldi,Reus.

Mother of all midfields :barscarf:
