Bored of Ferguson joining the United board?
I guess he will be a sounding board for Moyes, who can now exit Everton via the Mersey tunnel which was bored out of bedrock, and hit the ground running at Manchester, though I doubt he will have had time to buy a house there yet so will probably stay in a bed and board until he gets organised.
Is it a good move for Utd?
It is borderline underwhelming.

Im going to go against the grain on here (for once  ) and say that he'll be a good appointment for them.

Hes not a marquee manager like Klopp or Mourinho but a solid appointment.

The guy is obviously not being left to fend for himself- he has whisky nose upstairs as support and his credentials in the transfer market are very good.

Same here. They're going to need someone to steady the ship, but if he keeps them near the top and does well in the Cups in the next 2 seasons they'll build on that.

I wouldn't have been against him being our Manager, he would have cracked the whip on our players alot more.

Hopefully we're not regretting missing out getting him if they're hoovering up trophies in the future.

part of me is happy Moyes got the job:

He is a brit. British managers are overlooked, moyes has now got an unbelievable opportunity. Although British mangers should have the balls to coach abroad, but they choose not to.

I think he has many flaws. He is very much and old school style of play manager. I'm sure it won't bother the utd fans too much, but 'lofted through balls' and getting wide to cross are what I'll remember about his Everton. His teams work hard give us a game, but Arsenal fans, we've always done well against Everton because they lacked quality and confidence to punish us.

Lets see if he can adapt to a big club in a way Hodgson could never do. No misty eyes when he looks at his equivalent konchesky's.

Utd aren't going to be stronger. I can't see how UTD will be as dominant as they were under lord ferguson, they'll be weaker....... which means we can enjoy watching city and Chelsea hovering up more trophies in england.

The difference to Arsenal fans, we might pick up a few more pts a season and that is about as much as we can hope for.

Manure fans are even more whiney and fickle than most of our lot! They have also been spoiled rotten with success for a quarter of a century. If Moyes doesn't deliver a trophy in his first season they will turn on him as quickly as one's stomach would turn upon being presented with Madonna's dirty old burst hedgehog splayed wide opened right in front of your face.

I think he'll fail miserably tbh. I think 99.999% of managers would. It's an incredibly high profile job, and following in the footsteps of the most successful manager the Filth have ever had. And then there's the issue of the shower of cúnts in the dressing room that he'll inherit. Has he got the grit to deal with so many huge egos and fucktards that are so used to success? Can he impress them?

I think (and really really hope) it will all go pear shaped. 8)

The thing is, most utd fans under 40 know nothing other than Fergie, and indeed success. It will take a long acclimatisation for them to come to terms with the fact that their reign is over.
The window of opportunity is now open for either the chavs or city or both to dominate English football for years to come, only big investment can keep utd where they want to be, this won't happen with the glaziers in charge.(glaziers, window, 8) I should have been a novelist like you DB  )
Any way back to the point, utd fans may not only have to come to terms with not winning things, but also with not even seriously challenging for the title year in and year out.
The whole landscape of English football is about to change, and whilst very exciting, it is very depressing from an Arsenal fans point of view, that we are not in a position to take advantage, despite the promises made when we moved from Highbury.

the Moyesiah has never won away v any of the original top 4
his last Toffee's game is away to Chels, admittedly I'd like him to win that one
but if he doesn't, and fails once or twice for ManUre - that stat could become a bit of an albatross...

I find it bizarre that some people in the media have referred to him as a "winner". The one thing the bloke is not, is a winner. He ain't won shit. I can't even recall them making a League Cup semi in his time, although I may well be mistaken.

Yes, he's done a good job at Everton, but the margin for error there is huge in comparison to United. Everton have been generally consistent especially in his later years there, but after leading the team to a 7th placed finish in his first full season they then dropped 20 points and 10 places the next. Then after a very impressive 4th placed finish, they plummeted to 11th the following year after blowing their CL chance. It's the kind of inconsistency that is forgiven and forgotten at Everton, but wouldn't be at United.

Besides, I'm not convinced that the skills he showed at Everton are particularly important for a club like United. So he can cash in on overvalued players like Rodwell and use the money to bring in two or three good squad players that he may be able to turn a profit on in a few years. But can he identify the players that are going to make the difference between winning trophies and being empty-handed and then ruthlessly ensure that they're signed like Ferguson has with van Judas and many others? And he can deliver slightly over-achieving league finishes at a mid-table club arguably at the cost of a poor cup record. But can he deliver a strong title challenge every single season without fail whilst reaching the latter rounds of the FA Cup and CL year in year out?

The same stats that said Denilshit had a 100% pass completion

The sad thing is the resignation of Fergie will keep Wenger longer at Arsenal

Chelsea will strengthen with Mourinho, and they will buy a quality striker (Falcao)

City sat on their laurels last summer. The signings of Sinclair,Rodwell,Garcia and Maicon were a joke. They will spend big this summer.Bale?Lewandowski?

Utd still have a good squad and a board who back the manager.Baines Fellaini Lewandowski(Bale?) would make them a better team

As for us we are stuck with Loser Wenger. Why oh Why are we not going for Heynckes when he leaves Bayern and dont tell me he is too old he is 3 years younger than Fergie
