Thought it was a good protest from the Coventry fans (including the "big boned" guy on the pitch), and well supported by the gooners. Did it get any mention on the TV?

It did and BT focused on the signs every time they came up.

Obviously we weren't shown the bloke on the pitch but they definitely didn't ignore the peaceful protest.

I lose interest when he has the ball , I fully expect him every time he has it to either give it away or try and do some piece of skill he is clearly not capable off.

Absolute joke that right now he is our 2nd/3rd choice striker when we are coming into the toughest part of the season and pushing for the league :banghead:
I'm fully expecting Giroud's 3 month injury to come on 2nd Feb when Pulis's Palace kick us all round the park which means the Self Harmer will bemoan "special circumstances" when Postman and Bendy are rotated for the likes of Bayern, Chavski, Citeh and the Plastics.

Of course, not having worked in football for a single day, my opinion counts for shit
Postman and Sir Ponytail against Bayern , what a scary thought

To me it seems like Wenger is trying to adopt a system where our midfielders play as the strikers by interchanging positions all the time (hence the reason he is going for Draxler instead of the obvious choice Costa) which would be fine...

Except apart from Cazorla no one seems to be willing to have a shot at goal outside the six fucking yard box :banghead:

Therefore we need a poacher to sit in the box and tuck away all the chances our midfield create.

Oh wait we have one in Podolski who Lord Wenger refuses to play :rubchin:

Exactly.

It's so fucking annoying that we have world class creative midfielders like cazorla , Ozil , Ramsey etc creating all these great chances for guess who ... Giroud, who squanders a lot of them. = great team player , not a match winner.

I cannot believe Wenger is this close to finally winning something after 9 years and is going to blow it by not parting with £30m (which is hardly a lot giving our current financial state) to buy a good striker :banghead:

No, he's gonna part with £35m to buy another attacking midfielder.

Didn't see the game, just watched the goals on BBC 1, they said the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested, is this about right ?

Not really, the first half was pretty much one way traffic, they pushed up for much of the second half and were more of a threat. Flappy nearly passed into the man behind him once, they did have a couple of good chances, then they tired hugely and our 70 minute subs sorted it with another 2 goals.

In years gone by I fancy we would have conceeded a goal and at 2-1 we could have collapsed

That's stretching the truth to breaking point. What they mean to say is that the second half was a bit of a borefest where for 30 minutes we weren't constantly peppering their goal and they nearly grabbed one up the other end.

To me 4-0 suggests a comfortable dicking and that's what it was. They couldn't cope with us from the first whistle and the game was well and truly dead within half hour. They gave a good account of themselves considering their standing in the second half but even if they had grabbed a goal out of nowhere we could have gone up the other end and scored twice, it was extremely comfortable.

Cheers operator and northbank, yeah thought as much, funny as on BBC when they had showed us at 2-0 up (and a good save by flappy earlier) they showed them hitting the post and said that could have been 2-2  twats

Anyhow they also managed to mention us in the Carl froch story, as we know the boxing federation have ordered froth to have a rematch with whatever his name is, he then said he he had only known of this once before, us having a rematch with Sheffield United

Although we weren't ordered, we offered, you *word censored*

Could've been 4-4 if Coventry had scored, mate.

when is the draw for the next round?

there's likely to be four or five championship teams left in it, hopefully have a home draw to one of them.

can't see us going out to a championship team again this season, it'll be one of the premiership teams.

5 minute wonder Andross and his Dad are making the draw at around 5.35 on Sunday apparently
