Victims FC to win the League, or who else will?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

City are looking nailed on again.

they can win it and still afford to lose at Anfield.

Just noticed on the BBC website that the Liverpool vs. Man City game on April 13 is due to kick off at 13:37. Google'd it, and other sites have it down as the same time.

What the fuck?

Yeah this, city should win it comfortably and I think they will beat liverpool in the game of the season, in a 4-3 style like the newcastle v liverpool games from years ago that were absolutely brilliant to watch.

All games including our semi are kicking off 7 mins late as a mark of respect for the hills borough anniversary.

There'll be a minutes silence at 6mins past in every game.

Thanks for the explanation.

Personally though, I think it's ridiculous. Do it for the Liverpool game if you really must, but surely they can pay tribute in a less intrusive manner.

When is somebody going to stand up and say enough already ? FFS this shit has gone on long enough - I know that it was/is sad for the families involved but are they going to enforce this on us for the rest of our lives ? Manure have a minutes silence every season to commerate munich (the crash not the club that is about to wallop them in champs league  ) but at least it is their gesture and impacts on nobody else bar the club they are playing on that day

What do Juve do for Heysel ?

The 1 min for Munich at Manure is a dignified way for them to remember.

Trouble is that SOCIETY (In the shape of the police) fu**ed up big time for Hilsborough and thus there is a "National concience" about it. Maybe The Sun should call an official end to the mourning  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

They're not called Victim City for nothing. As Herd said on here, they'd hold a candlelight vigil if one of them lost a fiver in the bookies.

And before some Mouser twat trawling the interweb, looking for anyone mentioning Hillsborough without slagging off the Sun and the Police, gets their stolen knickers in a twist, I'm not saying what happened wasn't horrible for the victims and their families, but to expect the whole world to fucking commemorate it every time you want to is asking a bit much.

Also, why don't you commemorate the Italian fans you murdered? :rubchin:

Its 25 years to the day Augs, imho that's quite poignant.

maybe others felt the same way or not, but THAT night all I could think of was that could of been our support in Leppings Lane that day.

I think we can give them this one - we would have wanted football to remember our fans deaths 25 year anniversary wouldn't we ?.

and tbf, we all know it could have been avoided by the FA - they have never answered why Liverpool's support were given that end rather than the Kop, or why they let Semis be played there without a safety certificate since 1979.

in hindsight had we not been crap in the 1980's that could of been us there.

the FA have blood on their hands and they know it....

I don't know if you get as much info about this on your side of the Irish sea Augie, but there is incontrovertible evidence that the Police have systematically covered up their criminal activities at Hillsborough.

That, and the FA's incompetence and probable Home Office collusion are much graver problems that the stupid behaviour of the Bin Dippers on the day.

It is another shameful episode in British modern history.

Mods: feel free to edit if you think I've overstepped the mark here.

the old bill aside, i don't think there's any doubt the Home Office ie Thatcher wanted us oiks to take the blame for political reasons so they could issue ID cards and crush the political widespread dissent that was coming out of working class football and club culture.

people forget that Thatcher took away our 800 year old right to Assembly in the "Criminal Justice Bill"

Hillsborough was a convenient tool in the "us verses them" war that was going on then, they used it to brand all football fans as scum and big up "law and order"

The horrible irony is that football, which Thatcher despised, is one of the last bastions of true Thatcherism left in Britain.
