You were probably right first time mate - good chance for a bit of TV time/advertising and almost certainly encouraged by his agent. Don't think he had any motivation other than that and if his motives were genuine then he is a moron.Ultimatum94 wrote:northbank123 wrote:Bloody pesky agents, always putting the needs of the club above their own interestsUltimatum94 wrote:Of course I wasn't insinuating he HAD to be in the damn advert but his agent probably rang him up and thought it'd be a way of desensitizing a blemish in our rich recent footballing history.
Now, are you insinuating we don't have an inferiority complex??![]()

I should have proof read it but what I meant was that his stock obviously decreased after his horror show at the bridge and there's no better way mocking yourself in public to show that your talent can match your bravado.
Chambo probably thought he'd be desensitizing that Arsenal performance as that what some people do in times of crisis, right? Laugh when they've got no hope...

Yes, it was one of our darkest hours but we need our players laugh this off as I'd fucking hate it to loom over our players' heads and further increase our inferiority complex.
BT are BT. Always screwing us over.
You cannot be serious - it is one thing to have "outsiders" taking the piss but when one of your own players is treating it as a joke then it is nothing short of a disgraceContray to your opinion I would want this defeat looming over their heads - thousands of Gooners paid money to watch that shite and had to listen to chav b*stards take the piss out of them all day long and, despite what you and the ox think, it is a big deal and especially to the fans. I would want that hammering (and all the other hammerings) in the front of their mind next season and I would want to see a steely determination to ensure that it won't happen again - treating it as a joke/a big laugh is not what I want to see

We all know these players have an inferiority complex so now you want to elevate this to the next level by having this monstrous looming over their heads. Man, I know you love to be controversial Augie by being so anti-Arsenal at times but like I told va va voom it's probably an attempt, and a poor one at that, to desensitize that heavy defeat.
You know what FUCK THIS
WE'RE HAVING THE BEST SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW IN NEARLY OVER A DECADE, JUST WON THE FA CUP IN NEARLY OVER A DECADE OF BARREN SEASONS AND HAVE NOW GOT THREE WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS AND THE MEDIA ARE STILL DIVIDING US
You do realise that we still have no defensive midfielder, only 1 senior keeper, only 3 centre backs (and 1 of them wants out) and no central striker better than/to compete with giroud ? In a few weeks time we might well look back on this transfer window with real pride but as of now, we have signed TWO players so talk of being the best transfer window in a decade is premature and ridiculous - sanchez will hopefully prove to be a great signing but he is only 1 signing and too many fans seem to think that his signing has made everything alright again

No. Where'd you get that from?Ultimatum94 wrote:

I never made any sort of reference to inferiority complexes.
I said it won't loom over our players' heads because they don't give a sh*t.
Re: Media getting back to hating us (BT Sport Ad)
To be fair to Ox I doubt he knew the ad would come out that way.
I'm not gonna be too hard on him. Class player class act and gives 100% every time for us.

Re: Media getting back to hating us (BT Sport Ad)
We just need to remember we beat them twice and won the FA cup. Let them be bitter. It's just an ad about one game and not about our season.

As of now yeah you're right. But this summer we've finally bought an adequate replacement for a player thats left us in the same summer. If thats not something to celebrate then I don't know what is.augie wrote:Ultimatum94 wrote:augie wrote:Ultimatum94 wrote:I think the stick for Chambo is a bit uncalled for.

Plus it looks very likely our summers not done and even the likes of Sky Sports are reporting that we're after high-calibre players like khedira after splashing the cash on alexis.
A keeper is obviously one we're going to have to buy obviously as we only have 1 registered keeper and thats Chesney.
We'll probably get crap squad players but this has to be the first summer in maybe a decade, or half-decade, where we'll have bought in the market and be better theoretically the season before.

Leave Chambo alone!
Re: Media getting back to hating us (BT Sport Ad)
Ox probably thought they would just be highlighting the ref's error, which is the part he plays, he would not have known that other adverts include Liverpool's glorious but rare win at anfield when they beat us 5-1.
