Fat-heem Girling: crunt, confirmed.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Was just reading some online article saying what a positive influence he is in the dressing room, how he's been mentoring Nwaneri and how dedicated he is in training. I wonder whether Legohead himself or one of his cronies put that one in the media to try and get some sort of positive justification for the ridiculous wasted loan signing he is

His attitude on the field would tell me none of the above is true, nor his reaction after games where he waddles off down the tunnel on his own

He's been less effective as a loan signing than Kim Kallstrom FFS and he had a broken back :D
will go down as one of the worst signings ever, cant think of another thats worse ( and was mad when i heard we signed him on loan) despite many posters buying the bullshit hes here to prove himself FFS

another fuckin chav reject using our great club....ridiculous
I don't think they were 'Buying' (into his bullshit) mate, for me it was a case of:

Firstly FFS Not Another Chav Reject Eating up Precious Resources etc But also Maybe Just Maybe he can play a part etc... But after seeing him on the pitch for 20 minutes in his first substitution (I forget who for) But it was Glaringly Obvious He was Indeed Full of Bullshit and was; Unfit, Overweight and had lost any pace and skills he may once had had.

But for certain he has to be the worst signing Ever! And that includes Kallstrom and Sanogo. At least the latter could Post a Fucking Letter and change a lightbulb without a Ladder!
cant be too bothered but just picked this one out, he will be absolutely craving the chance to show what he can do

Hes finished...totally finished and hes a chav what more can i say.....worst signing since we swapped Frank Mclintock ( who went on to superbly marshal the QPR defence missing out on the title by one point) for terry mancini

I was devastated Red. Frank was my boyhood hero (along with Geordie Armstrong, GG and Charlie George, although Frank just pipped them to No. 1) and as you say, he proved that he had a good couple of years left, while we took the early 70s version of Stepanovs from QPR.

Club was a complete mess at that point and we finished 16th in 1974/75 and 17th in 75/76. Twenty two teams in the league back then and only two went down, but it was the only time in my life when there was a genuine concern about relegation. The football was fucking grim and a 0-0 was a good result.

Just thinking, prior to taking Mancini, we’d signed Jeff Blockley a season or two earlier :banghead:

I can’t honestly recall if he and Mancini played as centre backs together (I think maybe not, or certainly not much), but had they been a regular pairing than we’d have definitely gone down!!

Fucking dark days indeed. We bought an ageing Brian Kidd, who was probably a big part of us staying up.

Indeed Retro, forgot about Blockley :D another shocker he was

Yes dark days, fans were disapearing in droves, some really low attendances as well, that and West Ham fans coming into the Northbank around 1974/75, then a year later the scum got in, very much a change from early 1970.
We still had some good players and the great Liam Brady coming through the ranks
Prior to that Charlie George was the big fan favourite as he was one of us a fan from the terraces, gutted when they sold him
Absolutely loved Highbury, never lost its magic for me

I was at that game when West Ham took the North Bank. I was in the Clock End pretty early and they turned up in the North Bank equally early and filled a big part of the centre of it up before the Arsenal fans started arriving. From the Clock End you could see it all unfolding. The Arsenal fans turning up and unable to get into their usual place in the middle. It kicked off big time.

It was the FA Cup quarter final if I remember correctly and they done us with a couple of goals from Alan Taylor. Fucking grim day. We were a very poor side then. I got a lot of stick from the Hammers supporters at school, but I think it was the following season that we beat them 6-1 in the league.

think it was a league game just before FA cup tie....funny as me and a mate (both kids got there early and came in from station side, no scarfs but had Arsenal pin badges on....it was 2 hours to kick off and walking through the northbank i said...fuck me theres a lot here already...no one had colours....and headed for our place...thinking theres a lot of unusual faces here....we were standing right in the middle of west ham :D
take your badge off i said..then we walked over to the dividing line where the old bill were....my mate clipped the ankle of some giant ugly fucker...he went mad :D luckily we were near the police, that was the first time west ham were in there.....it was a shock
happy days :D
