DISAGREE WITH 26 MAY 1989 AND CONCUR WITH GUS WITH REGARDS EBOUE'S ABILITIES.
AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED HE CAN'T PLAY AS AN ORTHODOX WIDE PLAYER BECAUSE HE HASN'T THE ABILITY TO BEAT HIS MAN;
ALTHOUGH HE HAS SET UP A FEW GOALS WITH CROSSES IN THE PAST, THEY ARE NORMALLY THE EXCEPTION RATHER THAN THE RULE AND HIS PASSING IN GENERAL IS POOR;
TOO MANY TIMES HE DOESN'T USE SAGNA WHEN OUR RIGHT BACK HAS SPRINTED INTO SPACE ON AN OVER-LAP AND THEN LOSES THE BALL AND LEAVES US DEFENSIVELY VUNERABLE;
EBOUE HARDLY EVER ACTUALLY GETS BACK TO HELP SAGNA DEFEND WHEN THE LATTER COMES UNDER PRESSURE AND OFFERS NO MORE PROTECTION THAN THEO DOES - INDEED I WOULD SAY HE OFFERS LESS;
THEO OR HLEB OVERALL GIVE MORE TO THE TEAM, WHEN YOU CONSIDER THEIR SUPERIOR ATTACKING THREAT, THAN EBOUE DOES.
ALL OF THOSE ARE REASONS WHY EBOUE SHOULDN'T BE GETTING A REGULAR STARTING PLACE - WITHOUT EVEN GOING IN TO HIS POOR ATTITUDE, DIVING AND ACTING.
EBOUE CAN'T DEFEND
AND HE CAN'T PLAY RIGHT MIDFIELD EITHER. SIMPLY PUT, HE DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE TO BE IN OUR SQUAD, IN MY OPINION.

I thought he did ok last night, but his contribution in terms of the final ball was woeful.
With his pace he should be able to play on the wing and beat full-backs without needing a trick - I couldn't believe he wouldn't just run at Maldini as the old boy would never have lived with Eboue's speed. In pre-season against Inter he destroyed them down that side because he was willing to run with the ball, I just wish he's do it now.
I dislike the guy because of the way he behaves, but I do not consider him a dirty player - he gets a lot of stick because of the challenge on Terry, but he wasn't even looking at him so I can't for one minute accept he was trying to do anything untoward there. If he could just cut out the antics and start to use his pace properly he might just become a bit more popular.
