As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
You know what pisses me off the most is that nobody, not the commentators, not the pundits, nor the studio guests ever mention the unlimited, unregulated and unchecked amount of money City throw at this.
People just behave like this is a club with a long illustrious history, great stadium and terrific fans who have a fantastic youth academy, who build title winning teams from the ground up, have world class players they have raised since kids and have a silverware haul going back 100 years. It's all so false and cowardly.
Sky daren’t mention it. If interest in the PL plummets (which it will when it just becomes a battle of the sheiks) then their company is dead.
Football is keeping the whole thing afloat so everyone will ride the gravy train by saying how
amazing city are and how incredible it is that they can make 6 changes for a game but have no drop in quality because the squad is so pimped without ever asking the question about why that is or how it’s even possible.
Look how their midfielders and even forwards, get back to cover danger out wide. No wonder Pep got shot of Zinchenko. By the time he gets back to where he was meant to be in the first place, the opposition have already scored.
Have to say that reading/listening to comments bitching about citeeh's oil money and unlimited wealth makes me think that we are an entitled shower of whingers sometimes - we are now financially blown out of the water, but there have been clubs that for decades had no chance of winning the top titles cos clubs like us have had far more resources, and we didnt care about it then We dropped 2 pts at home versus the club that was relegated yesterday. We dropped 2pts away against the shammers having been 2 goals up and they fighting relegation. City's oil money had nothing to do with those results
A good squad with a good manager. They are pretty much unbeatable. They have built such an infrastructure that they are bringing through youth players now and flogging them off to pay for the big transfers. I don’t see how we contend with it. It is a machine that can’t be stopped.

There always were and are always going to be, clubs who have more money than others. But this is on another level. City could play a complete second 11 in almost half their games and still win fairly comfortably. Most other clubs lose one or two key players, including us, and the entire structure starts creaking. City's replacements fit in seamlessly. DeBruyne, for example, if he was with us, he would be played till he dropped, he's not even.playing today, and he's not missed. Mahrez would be in the starting 11 for every PL side, he hasn't started most of their big games. They are on another level with talent. BOUGHT talent.
Yes and no. Of course we could have done even better but the reality is we have already done better this season than the biggest Arsenal optimist could have dreamt. The bar for beating Man City to the title is now 90 points minimum. Their level of dominance has already matched that of 80s Liverpool and 90s Man Utd - if not quite yet in logetivity (though they just need another couple of years to basically be there), they’ve already trumped the aforementioned in degree.
And as for second point, yes there have always been dominant teams, but they always tended to evolve over decades and, apart from the odd freak/exception (eg Blackburn), did so in tandem with a growing fanbase and sound management, again over a period of decades. And there were always other big guns - a Liverpool, or an Arsenal or Man Utd in recent times, others in the past, reviving itself within 3 or 4 years to keep the balance in check. What we are seeing now is the totally inorganic moulding of a middling sized English team into almost certainly a perennial European giant over the course of just ten years.
Pep is undoubtedly doing a very good job with Man City - I won’t say incredible due to the European failures - and is incredibly well compensated for it. But let’s be honest - literally any manager currently in the top four divisions of English football, had they taken over Man City circa 2015 would have had them cruising to a top 4 place every season such was their spending on players over several years, plus and absolutely gigantic wages offered to attract Haaland et al to this day. That never used to be the case at all other dominant clubs. They simply can’t fail. The PL has created a monster.
Augie they were a relegation yo yo club with a fan base exclusively in their own city up and down the divisions for years.
They were bought by a sheikh, had an entire gulf nations wealth at its disposal and transformed into multiple league winners and treble winners elect.
To make comparisons to our financial power which won us trophies is laughable, they’re on track for 5 out of the last 6, we haven’t won back to back league titles since the 30’s!
That cocky piss taking c.unt Grealish really is going to get it one day.....and when he does I hope whoever breaks his leg gives it a big, smug, cocky grin
Besides the money they have spent and undoubtedly will spend on players plus their wages, they have also spent £100Million+ just on their training ground, with further developments to the training facilities and the ground expansion due this coming Summer.
Football is Dead, it is a Business and a plaything for those Oil Sheiks , the very same sheiks who condone the beheading of women and gay people.
Won't it be ironic; regardless of our recent collapse, if the Oil Cheats were to win the title by 1 point.... PGMOL need to be sued by Arsenal FC... and Investigated for Corruption...
Not going to happen of course, but it's nice to dream.

Such a massive c.unt
He'll get done by someone as will that fucking elbowing yeti thing they have up front.
We had zero financial advantage in any of the league titles won in my lifetime, quite the opposite in fact.
89 and 91 up against the Liverpool boot room dynasty and 98 02 and 04 when we took on the greatest cash cow the game has ever seen (up until the sheiks and war criminals entered the field anyway).
UEFA had them bang to rights for cheating as will the PL - fuck all will come of it but it doesn’t change the fact it’s true.

It's very unlike me to wish injury on someone but honestly he truly deserves what will undoubtedly come his way. Barely an incident in that game till he comes on giving it the wind up from the first minute, cockily grinning every time he goes down and whining to the ref with his arms out. Even at the final whistle the gormless thick Brummie c.unt was larging it up. What a prick he is
